Plus I would find it very problematic if she told Riley and not Willow and Xander had fought and worked with her so closely all these years.

I don't know -- I get strong religious/moralistic overtones from Tara's family; I'm guessing they think homosexuality is a sin.

Hm...see, and given the strong religious overtones, I'd think they'd be more blatant. After all, they're after ways to hate/control Tara so why not use her sexuality?

But overall I think it was left in subtext so we'll never really know.
