- The Wish is awesome, y'all.

- Amends is slightly less stupid this time round, though it very much feels like AtS Episode 00.

Oh, and the Magic Snow? Still not a fan.

- Buffy has very unfortunate hair from Amends onward. The Zeppo is especially boggle-inducing.

- You know, I still just can't wrap my head around Buffy's behavior in Bad Girls. I ( Read more... )

The magic snow is so stupid.

I'm not too jazzed about season 3 as a whole, even now that I've actually seen all of it. There is a reason that I didn't get into BtVS until my housemate and her then-bf hit season 4 of their rewatch. And it makes me sad. Faith! I love Faith! Why couldn't we have Buffy/Faith, or even just Buffy and Faith regularly hanging out at the same time, instead of all the Bangel angst? Oh, what might have been.

Mayor Wilkins was in an episode of How I Met Your Mother that I watched on Monday. It was very odd.

I do love Faith. And I'd gladly substitute the Bangel angst for more of her. She clearly needed to be a cast member instead of a recurring guest. Yep. :)

I think I might love you. :)

Reading your linked post, I did one ages ago about how much I don't like mayo. It boggles people's minds that I don't eat it but I don't like it. Of course, the whole post came after someone trying to shove this Bangel love story fanfic down my throat like a million times despite my polite no thank you. And this was someone on my flist, so you think they'd know better.

The only reason to watch Amends, ONLY REASON, is the pornstache. Oh yeah, you know the one I am talking about.

Yeah. It's always tempting to try to tell people all the awesomeness of a ship you like in the thoughts that they might "get it", but if somebody doesn't like a pairing, they probably just don't like that pairing. There's no point in trying to persuade them otherwise.

rofl! I do like the Willow/Oz scenes in Amends, and I actually like the big Buffy/Angel scene on the hill top. You know, before the Magic Snow. The rest of it, though...

I've always been less-than-impressed with The First as a villain.

Put me down as another that wanted Faith as a regular cast member...but on ATS.

Yes! She fits in more with the Angel crew. Seeking redemption. Staying on the straight and narrow. Plus, I genuinely like scenes with her and Angel. She would have been awesome as a regular there.

I've had people sell me on a pairing before. Like when I first started out, I was pretty indifferent towards Spuffy and then I flat out didn't like it but now, I really have grown to love it. And beer_good_foamy converted me to the Buffy/Clem ship. I think it is possible but if someone liked a ship and then fell out of favor with it, nothing is going to change their mind. Like I used to like Fred, the first go around, on numerous rewatches, I wish she would have stayed in Pylea. I shipped Bangel cause all my friends did and then I, you know, left high school and started to think for myself, realized I didn't have to like what they did.

And The First was totally a cop-out villian, imho. Oh look! I am the ultimate evil only I can't really -do- anything because I'm not corporeal. But wait! I have an army of ubervamps! Oh yes, that will do nicely!

Oh, I've had my opinion changed on various characters/ships when rewatching the show. But I've never been in a discussion with someone who, one-on-one convinced me to like a ship that I previously hadn't liked.

Oh, you mentioned Fred! I hated her character when I first watched AtS. I'm wondering if my opinion of her will change when I rewatch it. Likely not (Fredless really turned me off her for good). But, hey, it could happen.

lol! Yep, that's about it. :)

I would like to know who thought Buffy's hair looked good like that. Unfortunate costuming choices are one thing, but at least you can change clothes the next day.

You don't see Buffy/Faith subtext?! You see Cordelia/Willow but not Buffy/Faith? (I don't really see it, either, LOL.)

Nah, I don't see Cordy/Willow subtext. I just like the idea of them together so I feel free to stretch canon to make it happen. :)

The Buffy/Faith subtext I know was done intentionally, but it just doesn't read as lesbian to me. My femslash goggles, apparently, don't work very well. The Buffy/Faith dynamic has always come off as a sisterly thing to me.

The Buffy/Faith subtext was intentional? In an interview on FreshAir from a few months ago, Joss basically said that he was incredibly resistant to the idea and thought that fans just wanted to see them together because they thought it would be hot. Eventually someone directed him to some more serious analysis that convinced him that it was there, but he made it pretty clear in the interview that it wasn't his idea and wasn't something he took seriously until after season 3 had aired.

Huh. Must have been under Joss' radar. I've heard statements that Doug Petrie intentionally put some subtext in the episodes he wrote (which includes Bad Girls). Joss must have been oblivious to it...kinda like me. :)

Oh, Doppelgangland. *wistful sigh* How I love to rewatch Wesley shrieking. It's all good - great even - but for some reason I cannot watch that scene just once.

I might add Earshot to the short list of good last-half eps, but then I just adore Jonathan. Plus the "stevedore" comment always gets me.

Then, on to Season 4, which totally sealed it for me. I just don't understand why people don't love/hate a government conspiracy! It's a cake AND a candy. Not to mention Spike who is also cake-and-candy-like, to some of us.

I'm not as enamored of Earshot as most people seem to be. I think it's a bit too "high school" for me.

S4 is my happy season. If I just wanna watch one episode of Buffy, I'm most likely to pop in something from S4 because the standalone eps are fun. :)

Wow, we don't really agree about everything, the beauty of human nature :)

Faith/Buffy: It was a very poorly hidden one-sided fantasy of Faith, and while Buffy was clearly drawn to her at some point, I think she would have ended up just using her like Spike in season 6. I'm glad it didn't happen, but I do love the hot chemistry between the two.

The first half of the show was mostly just boring to me, before Faith's storyline started I had no idea where the season was going. I liked some episodes (Anne, Faith Hope & Trick, Amends, etc.), but 14-22 were just awesome as a whole. I'll need to do a seasonly rewatch after finally being able to get the 7 seasons boxset.

Ah, Faith just doesn't ping me as gay. So I'm rather oblivious to the Buffy/Faith stuff.

I was surprised by how much I enjoyed the first half of S3. With the exception of Amends, I can't say there was an "off" episode for me. But once past Helpless, it's much more hit or miss.

I think Faith swings both ways.

What makes you think that?
