Random S3 thoughts
- The Wish is awesome, y'all.
- Amends is slightly less stupid this time round, though it very much feels like AtS Episode 00.
Oh, and the Magic Snow? Still not a fan.
- Buffy has very unfortunate hair from Amends onward. The Zeppo is especially boggle-inducing.
- You know, I still just can't wrap my head around Buffy's behavior in Bad Girls. I mean, I've sussed out the intended reasons. The new Watcher, the near-drowning, Faith, etc. But it still feels off to me. I still squint and wonder if she's under some spell (which was what I thought when watching the episode for the first time). Cause...walking out on a test? The what? Huh?
Preemptively raiding a vamp nest during school?
Grinding it up at the Bronze with a bunch of doofish-looking guys?
I think I'd buy it more if we got more lead-in to it. Like, have the whole "Faith tempts Buffy to the dark side" set up in previous episodes. Or have it established that she's been hanging out with Faith more (Willow's complaint about this just seems off because the whole Buffy and Faith hang-out seems to be a new "thing" for Bad Girls).
This is actually around the point in the season that I tend to get restless to move on to S4. The second half of S3 just doesn't work for me, with a few exceptions (Doppelgangland...and Doppelgangland. Oh and I like The Prom).
Ah, this is my unpopular opinion for the season. Oh, and I still can't quite manage to see the Buffy/Faith subtext. Sorry, folks. (Don't try to sell me on it. I'll just link you to this post.)
