I'm a Killer!

So -- Monday marked the first day of school and we are still getting our rhythm back. The kids are having trouble with the early wake-up time (so am I!) and remembering to put their homework (yes, they get homework on day one!) in their folders etc. But things are starting to come together and I'm getting my time to run errands (with just ConTessa at home, it is so much easier).

This morning, it was too wet to walk, so I drove the kids to school. Then on my return I saw something in the driveway. I was hoping my imagination was running away from me and it was just a pinecone or large leaf -- but the placement of the object on my side of the driveway did not make that likely.

Sure enough, when I parked and looked under the car there, right by my back right wheel, was a dead chipmunk. I must have run over it on the way to school (I didn't even feel a bump).

I don't want to touch it (disease!), but I don't want Devilla to see it when she gets home this afternoon.

What a great start to a three day weekend!

On an unrelated note, what's a good thing to serve with shrimp? (And don't say road kill!)
