Movies! :D
And I'm not complaining about them this time. XD
I saw It's A Wonderful Afterlife on Saturday, it was good! Maybe not the best film ever, but I enjoyed it. There were some pretty funny moments, as well as gross moments.
I felt really sorry for the mum! She was just sticking up for her daughter, although she didn't go about it in the best way, haha. I just wanted to hug her most of the time. I did like that she wasn't all "You have to get married because you're a girl bla bla" but it was cos she wanted her to have love like she did. I liked Roopi a lot as well, her character was realistic. Her friend Linda was a bit too much at times, but she was funny as well. Sendhil Ramamurthy's british accent was flawless, I can't believe he's got an American one in real life! I wish we had seen a bit more of how his character fell for Roopi though. The dead spirits were hilarious, I cracked up every time the dude with the chapati stuffed down this throat tried to talk. Me and my friends probably laughed a little too hard at the Kuch Kuch Hota Hai reference though.
I don't know if the film will translate well internationally though. It did seem like it was targetting a specific audience. But that being said, we get a lot of American films imported that make cultural references we might not understand, and no-one seems to be bothered by it!
I also watched Green Lantern: First Flight and Justice League: Crisis on Two Earths. Brilliant! :D I'm loving these DC direct to DVD movies. The JL movie was great, I did enjoy seeing animated Flash again (voiced by Josh Keaton as well! :D). Superwoman was a friggin' nut! Mob boss-like Ultraman was fun to watch as well. I was completely dense though, and didn't catch who the president was supposed to be in the alternate universe. XD The GL movie was a lot better than I was expecting, probably because I'm not really familiar with Hal Jordan. But if he's as cool in the comics as he was in this movie, I can understand why he has a big fanbase. It'd be interesting to see a GL series.
