2. I started collecting quotes from people I admire (no matter what their citizenship!) when I was in college. I never did anything with them until I opened this LJ account at which point I discovered they fit in nicely for the LJ cuts. So the odd hobby hasn't been a complete waste of time! :-D
5. When I was in college - again - I would go to any science fiction convention that was within a few hours driving distance. I think the farthest I ever traveled to one was from Provo Utah (I was attending Brigham Young University) to Reno Nevada - and I can't even remember which celebrities they had. Nowadays I only go to DragonCon in Atlanta, and I can take the subway to that. It's a lot more expensive than the little cons I went to in college, but there are dozens of authors and actors. They have panels going on in four hotels now and it is wall-to-wall people for four days. It's beginning to rival ComicCon in San Diego, but it has a much more loose format. Unfortunately, I missed DragonCon last year when Joe Flanigan was there, but David Hewlett has promised to be there this year and I am determined to be there.
I hope you'll be able to go and enjoy the con a lot... And you're a total liar, you said that some of them were just pretty for you, but these are pretty and have a good history, lol :D I seriously love your style, it's so different to the rest and so amazing for that ;)
