OMFG! Tomorrow's preview has Craig going apeshit on Lucinda! As in, HE TRIES TO STRANGLE HER!!! Holy night!
So I have to admit, I actually felt bad for Craig today. Talk about a punch to the gut!
He gets Lily into a room where they can talk, and Lily tells him the whole story, about how Lydia didn't want to say anything because she was embarrassed that she had an affair with a married man, so she asked Lily and Lucinda to keep quiet. But somehow, Lily had a copy of Gabriel's birth certificate, which lists Craig as his father (which she showed to Craig today, who thought it was a fake at first! LOL). Naturally, Craig is a little more than upset, and he rants about how hard Bryant's death was for him, and how he fought tooth and nail to keep Johnny, and now how he's trying to understand how all of this stuff happened with Gabriel. He tells Lily to stay the hell away from him and never speak of it again. And she is NOT to tell Gabriel any of this, either.
So Craig then flashes back to when he was acting like a freak in Old Town and threatened to strangle Gabriel if he didn't leave him alone (strangling seems to be Craig's M.O., doesn't it? First with Ellis, then with Gabriel, now tomorrow with Lucinda! Sheesh!). He ends up back in Gabriel's hospital room, where he sits down next to his bed and cries about how he didn't know that Gabriel was in the building when he started the fire. I actually really liked this scene, because Craig was a mess, and you could tell that he's clearly starting to develop some fatherly feelings for Gabriel, but dude! Don't just admit that you started the fire! Ten bucks says even though he was unconscious, Gabriel heard every word and will use this against Craig some time in the future. :-P
What hasn't been clarified, though, is whether or not Gabriel himself knows that Craig is his father. I can't decide whether I think he knows or not. If he did, don't you think it would have slipped out by now? Gabriel hasn't exactly been stealthy in his dealings with Craig. He's actually been pretty flat-out about everything. And if he was harboring so much hate for Craig for abandoning him, would he have been able to keep it a secret for this long? I dunno. Craig thinks he knows, and Lily probably thinks he knows, but we don't know for sure. All we can go on is that Gabriel claims to have known Bryant before he died.
I also have to admit that Craig's scenes with Lily today were cool, because we never see them together, and it was like a nod to the history of the show. I kinda wish we had been able to see Sierra again...that would have been neat.
Gah! Has this storyline sucked me in? Bah humbug! :-P
On the flipside, Parker's in deep sludge! Carly finally manages to get the whole story out of him, and the only thing she doesn't know (and Parker doesn't know, either) is why Craig was stealing Parker's trust fund money. But everything else, like Parker's TKO of Gabriel at Monte Carlo, is now in the open! Carly tells Parker to keep quiet about it, because even though he's innocent of the whole fire incident, he admitted to going all Avada Kedavra on Gabriel's ass and then just leaving him there passed out on the floor. LOL. So Carly thinks it might not be a good idea to talk about any of that, because if he admits that to the police, there's no way they're going to believe that he had nothing to do with the fire (or had some other ulterior motive). Poor Parker. See? If only someone had thrown the two of them a life preserver to save them from drowning in the sea of too much testosterone...
Guys fight with their fists, and girls fight with their words. And sometimes devious actions. :-P Case in point? NutMeg today!
I really think Meg pulled a page from the Damian Grimaldi Guide to Life, because what she did today - calling the First Edition (Emily's newspaper) with some fabrication about how Deerbrook only released Meg because the Snyders bribed the hospital - was exactly something Damian would do to try to eliminate his opponents.
Apparently Meg is suing for custody of Eliza (and much at Emma's urging, I might add), and Emily is ALL up in arms about it. I was actually kind of shocked at how vicious Emily was today about Eliza, because while I knew that Emily is attached to her and loves her, I didn't think she was going to try to keep Meg away from her. But that's exactly what she planned to do, only Meg didn't let her get away with it.
At first, Meg wants to settle out of court, but Emily would have none of it and swears up and down that she will blow Meg out of the water every chance she gets when it comes to Eliza. So Meg places the phony call to the First Edition right before the custody hearing, which has Emily rushing off to investigate (because this could potentially change the outcome of the custody hearing), leaving Paul in the courtroom by himself. The judge hears both their sides of the story, and Paul (you're a good man, Paul!) ends up being really sweet about the whole thing, even though he said that he didn't think Meg could give Eliza a better life than she has now with Emily and himself. The judge agrees and says that there will be another evaluation in thirty days.
Emily gets back to the courtroom just in time to catch Meg leaving, and she hisses at her that she knows Meg placed the fake phone call. Meg plays dumb and is all, "I don't know what you're talking about", and Emily threatens that she will bring the house down on Meg if she tries to outsmart her. Meg says, "It hasn't been that hard so far," and leaves Emily steaming in the hallway.
Oh, NutMeg. Damian would be SO PROUD of you!!! His devious ways are lost on Luke, but at least he knows he's got a mighty fine protege in you! Let's all clap you on the back for a job well done.
O_o
So, yeah...I was starting to think that maybe Meg was on the path of righteousness, but now I'm kinda thinking that she's still a little nutso. :-P Of course, it doesn't help that Emma is pushing Meg as hard as she can, which I don't think is a good idea at the moment (and I don't think Holden thinks it's a good idea, either). Meg needs to gently ease back in to real life, not be shoved headfirst into it. I have a feeling this is going to get even messier before show's end. Make sure you buckle your seat belts, guys! :-)
Oh yes, and Holden came to the Lilypad after the hearing to pick up the kids for a fun day of horseback riding, where he found Lily sniffling over this whole thing with Craig. He asks her what's wrong, she says she can't tell him, he presses her, and she admits that she thinks she's made a terrible mistake! "Oh, Holden...I've once again single-handedly effed everything up!" That's become Lily's mantra lately, hasn't it? :-P FUBAR, thy name is Lily Walsh Snyder. :-P
Previews for tomorrow have Margo assigning Jack to the "arson" case at Monte Carlo. Oh, this should be good! Poor Parker! :-(

PS - Liberty crying over Gabriel today? Puh-leeeaze. She's known him for like, five minutes and all he wanted to do was get in her pants anyway! :-P
