Okay, so...I'm just gonna say it flat out.
The boys broke up today.
I've known for a long while that it was coming. And I'd like to say, on a side note, that Van and Jake did such a good job with it, they really did. That ending part, with the hugging and the "Same here"? God. Rip my heart out
(

So, first off.
Finally!
I too think this break-up was long overdue. That doesn't make it any painful (but I'm not as upset over it as much as I thought I would be. - same here), but it was due to happen and the boys NEED to be apart right now.
I understand where Noah's coming from. I think any person with some independence drive would think the same things that he's thinking. I would.
Knowing what we know about Noah, he doesn't have problems with being alone - he thinks it's his natural condition in a sense. So now, he doesn't think "Oh God, if I push Luke away I'm going to be alone for the rest of my life." What he thinks is "I'm alone, and too faulty to be anyone's boyfriend right now. I need to focus on myself or I won't have any self to focus on anymore."
So, I don't blame him for saying and doing things lots of people would probably say and do in his clothes.
BUT - Luke's probably the guy that needs more confirmations of love in the whole world. Either Noah doesn't get it, or he does but he isn't able to let Luke know (or do something about it).
If the former - we have a serious problems on the relationship side of the matter, Mr Mayer. I mean, come on! You've been with the guy for 2 years and a half. It's not possible that you don't know how he feels and thinks. If the latter - Noah should've done something more along the way. It's like he doesn't appreciate Luke enough, or he isn't able to convey it to him anyway.
I think that's what led Luke here, to the painful crossroads where it's either Noah or himself. And it's a good thing that he chose himself. That they both did. The boys really need to split up and figure out who they are and what they want now - mostly, to find out why they're so in love with each other... and that isn't something they can do if they are together or on some kind of stupid, inexistent break like one of the thousands they took.
I was expecting it to be WAY more painful. I guess what's coming next it's going to definitely be so.
So - hurt us, writers - and you better hurt us good. We want real angst, not the silly, nonsense things you pull everytime Luke and Noah have an argument.
Can I say a couple of more things about today's ep? :)
1. Don't we get to hug Maddie goodbye? *shakes head*
2. What is with Noah and asking every girl in town to move in? And them taking him up on it at the first syllable.
Really. Ali? Just like that? Don't get me wrong, it's definitely something I want to see (if only we got nice writers who showed us glimpses of everyday life - thankyouverymuch) - but I think it was very out of the blue and pretty weird :) Cam't wait to see how this turns out.
3. Who wants to bet Ali's moving out in 2 days and Dr Dallas is moving in? HA! That would be the crackiest thing ever. Especially considering what we know is coming.
@Noah - "Same here."? Seriously?? You could've done SO much better than that, man. Bah.
'kay, thanks for you hospitality, girlz!!! :)
ALL THAT SAID, the boys will get back together. We know they will :)

I can see where both boys are coming from (though I do tend to identify with Luke WAY more often), and I think this totally makes sense. It doesn't mean that it doesn't suck moose eggs, but like I said before, at least it's the truth. And it's real, you know? It's not because some stupid professor is hitting on Noah or something. This is only dealing with the two boys themselves and nothing else. And this is paving the way for a storyline that could be so angsty-good that we all might fall down dead from it. :-)
And yeah, I'm pissed about Maddie's non-exit, too. That is so lame! We could have at least gotten a little good-bye scene with her. But I have to say that I like the idea of Ali and Noah as roommates, too. I think that Ali is not only going to provide Noah with the friendly support he needs, but she'll also manage to finagle the whole story with Luke out of him and then shove him back in Luke's direction to fix it. :-) Especially since she's done this before, and Luke is her friend also. :-) (LOL! If Reid moves in with Noah, I will shit my pants, no lie. Crackiest thing EVAR! HAHAHA.)
I have no doubt that the boys will get back together. The writers are doing this to us on purpose, I swear it! Hopefully they will handle the story well and we'll all enjoy the angsty goodness. :-)
Also...feel free to let it all out here ANYTIME! Seriously. :-) I love hearing everyone's thoughts! :-D

Yes! That's exactly it! Which is why they're going to get back together. It all boils down to them being them in the end. (Plus another reason I've thought of and brought up in a little spoiler-based Jansis I wrote... but I can't post it until Reid's things happens, dammit!!!)
***SPOILERY POST SCRIPTUM****
I have this image I can't get out of my head - Luke in Reid's bed, naked. "I'm grabbing a sandwich, honey."
Reid: "No, wait, you may run into my roommate and that would be really--"
[Luke opens the door to the living room]
[Noah drops his camera]
Oh, crap.
LOL!
