The World's Smallest Heart Bleeds for Mick Dante - Today's Recap, 2/12/10

Feb 12, 2010 15:36

Okay, for real? If you're not Trent Dawson, then you shouldn't even attempt the whole "two people, one body" thing. Those scenes with Mick actually had me laughing instead of buying into his story.

Also, when Mick was in his James persona, why did he sound like Jim Carrey's version of The Grinch? Seriously. Go back and watch those scenes, then put the movie on. Tell me they don't sound alike!

Anyway, so Mick's whole "sob story" comes out today. He confesses everything to Alison, about how he was living on the streets and James took him in, treated him like a son, and let him admire James as a father. Then Mick would start fulfilling requests of James. The details of these requests we don't know, but soon Mick started questioning James' actions and his motives, but by then it was too late. Pretty much, James said "Jump!" and Mick asked, "How high?" until he was in too deep and couldn't get out of it. Then James "programmed" Mick to return to Oakdale and destroy everyone whom he once loved but was "betrayed" by.

Oh, poor baby. Let me take some time out of my day to cry for you. Both of you.

NOT.

I swear, every kid on this show except for like, Casey, has serious daddy issues. :-P And usually the daddy issues are wonderfully chock full of angsty goodness, but in Mick's case, I just kept rolling my eyes. Although I have to say that it's going to turn the drama up for Casey and Alison's wedding.

Oh, yeah...so let's talk about Ali! Where the hell has my sweet, lovable, honest Alison gone? She just immediately resorts to lying to Casey's face now. That's awesome. (Note sarcasm.) "Oh, I was shopping." "Oh, the dress was too tight." "Oh, I was too nervous about the wedding to sleep." "Oh, I'm just a skanky whore who can't keep it in her pants for some unknown reason." GOD. What have the writers done to my Ali? I was so excited when she said yes to Casey's extremely abrupt proposal, and instead of making it something wonderful and enjoyable and real, they've turned it into this ridiculous plot that somehow brings James back to life YET AGAIN, and they destroy Ali's integrity in the process. Way to go, writers.

I should write a scathing letter. "Dear Jean Crap-in-the-Head..." :-P

And on top of that, to make matters worse, this whole situation has propelled Casey into wanting to make himself a better man. Which is great! I love that! I want him to get his life back on track! But he's doing this all for Ali (well, not all, but she's a main catalyst), and Casey's just going to end up being dumped on. I really hope he doesn't give up on his dreams after all is said and done. Poor Casey. I hope he uses this impending heartbreak to move himself even closer towards his life goals.

It ticks me off that the writers took Ali in one direction and Casey completely in another. I would have loved to have seen them both work hard towards making their life what they want it to be TOGETHER. Instead I find myself not believing Alison when she says she loves Casey. Especially when she's got one eye open and fixed on Mick 24/7, who PALES in comparison. Somehow a life with Mick, where Ali would have to watch him like a hawk to make sure he doesn't, y'know KILL SOMEBODY, is supposed to be more appealing than a life with Casey, who's sweet, honest, and y'know, GENUINELY in love with Alison. ARGH!!!

Anyway.

Let's move on to Henry and Barbara. 1) Henry was so fricking funny today, and 2) He and Barbara are too damn cute!

So the scene where Henry corners the nurse and starts coughing all over him? Priceless. Oh my God that was so funny, and so typically Henry. Like I said before, perhaps they should have actually tested Henry for TB first, instead of just taking Dr. Oliver's word. I mean, yeah, quarantine him and all, but double-check after that, yeah? Especially since Henry had no hospital record or chart to speak of, which would document him being there for whatever reason.

And then he was so sweet with Barbara. Oh my. I wanted him to say yes to her invitation to the wedding SO MUCH. She was so sad and so honest with him and he was so sweet back to her! AWWWW! Henry Coleman, I love you. You're a good man, flaws and all. And why couldn't he, Katie, and Barbara have gone together? Katie doesn't have any issues with Barbara, does she? (Does she? I honestly can't remember...)

I love Vienna, but I think Henry and Barbara have this underlying connection that very strongly pulls them together. And let's not forget that Barbara was the only person who wanted to spend time with Henry after the Uncle Ralph debacle. Oh, yeah, and Henry's like a MILLION TRILLION KAZILLION BAJILLION TIMES GREATER THAN JAMES STENBECK.

Oh yes. :-)

So now Emily and Paul. Two things: Emily finally got Paul to give her the gun, but she didn't take the bullets out or destroy the gun or anything, she just PUT IT BACK INTO THE SAFE. Um...how is that going to keep Paul from getting the gun again? And: I can't believe Paul fell for Alison's lies about Mick at the church. If I were Paul, even if I believed what Ali was saying, I still would have gone up to the bell tower to check. Just to see it with my own eyes.

But it's okay. Obviously, this story is not over yet. There's more Rage!Paul and James!Mick to come. :-) Ten bucks says Casey gets caught in the crossfire. Wouldn't that just be the icing on the cake. :-( Man...Teri, Luke, and Casey should get together...they could be the founders of the Short End of the Stick Club. For all those who keep getting kicked in the teeth by life. :-(

Oh, and BOB! How much do you guys love Bob?! I know I do! I love that he and Casey talk about marriage and girls and sex (HAHA!). Very unlikely duo, but they're so cute and awesome together. And Bob's the man. :-D

~G

PS - What was with Carly's "I'm going to destroy Janet Ciccone Snyder MWAHAHAHAHAHAHAAAAAA!" preview for next week? Okay, so she sees Janet and Dusty playing tonsil hockey...has she forgotten that she and Jack have been doing the SAME DAMN THING every time they see each other?! Haha! Silly Carly. :-)

PPS - Happy Friday! ♥
