Holden to Kids: Well, Daddy Killed Damian. Have Another Scoop of Ice Cream, Okay? - Today's Recap

2/2/10

Okay, so...I have a small beef with Holden.

The best thing about him, I think we all can agree, is that he's honest, right? He's a very moral man. Molly herself said this to his face today. So him hemming and hawing about the truth with whatever happened to Damian (and by "happened", I mean what Holden DID to him) is driving me nuts! The truth is going to come out sooner or later. I say it should be sooner to spare Lily and Luke the agonizing grief. Holden should tell them flat-out; rip the news like a bandaid.

I was thinking, though, that if Holden truly thinks that Damian is dead (and that's why he's not saying anything), then it would be REALLY interesting for him to say that, and have everyone believe him. Not that I want to bring more of the house down on Luke, but imagine what Van could do with scenes like that - Luke dealing with Damian's betrayal AND death. Oh, man. It could be so totally fantastic. I don't know if that's what the show is going for, or if Holden's just afraid to admit that he beat the holy bajeebus out of Damian, but think of the possibilities! :-)

Anyway, back on the topic of the show - I thought it was really funny how Holden and Lily sat Natalie and Ethan down with bowls of ice cream to tell them about Damian. LOL. Ice cream makes everything better, doesn't it? :-P Maybe when you're like, 8. Hehe!

And when Ethan asked if Lily had lied, too. BWAHAHAHAHAHA. Lily really needs to step up her game. She kinda sucks as a mother right now, especially if her five-year-old is questioning her truthfulness. HAHA. The only person she seems to be a good mother to is Luke. And that's most likely because he's an adult.

And Molly today. That poor kid was traumatized on the docks, and she just kept pushing him! HAHA. "Oh, no, sweetie! Please keep talking about the scary men who are going to haunt your dreams for the next month! PLEASE!" LULZ. But I do wish Holden was more truthful with her from the start. I mean, she figured him out anyway, but still. She had to squeeze him a little bit to get the small amount of info she has.

And is it just me...am I the only one who doesn't really want Holden and Lily to get back together right now? I feel like they are so distant from each other - understandably - and I was really enjoying Holden with Molly. I think I was enjoying the two of them because Holden had finally accepted that Lily was married to Damian and truly wanted to move on with his life. And just be with his kids. Anybody else feel this way?

And, of course, Lucinda. HAHA. Gotta love her. Lucinda hires a P.I. to do exactly the opposite of what they usually do. She wants this dude to make sure that Damian never comes back to Oakdale again. Well, I can tell ya, Lucinda, if Damian's lying somewhere with a paddle shoved down his throat, he might not make it back, ya know what I mean? :-P Only time will tell. We need more than just the same ol' flashback the show keeps feeding us.

And now on to Janet/Jack/Carly/Liberty. Do I even need to talk about Liberty? You guys know how I feel about her. I did think that Janet should have let her go to the museum (perhaps not by herself, since Liberty's what...17?), but Liberty once again showed her true colors. Give 'em an inch, and they take a mile. Janet let her go, and Liberty blows the money that Jack gave her for cab fare (PS - Liberty gets CAB FARE?! Send that bitch down to the subways!) on a stupid "Palm Reader" who basically takes her money and runs. Liberty's damn lucky Carly showed up to not only save her, but also reassure her that her "lifeline" was still intact. Hell, Carly didn't even have one! Hee.

And Jack and Carly today. Hooboy. You know the show's gonna drag this out for as long as possible, right? Not that I mind it; I'm actually REALLY enjoying them, but the angst, the angst! I feel so bad for Carly. She keeps getting stomped on, and she really lost out with this last shot with Jack. Liberty's cancer trumped their reunion and there's nothing Carly can do about that. :-( Poor Carly.

And Dusty and Janet! I don't know how I feel about them anymore, especially with all the Dusty/Teri interaction today. I'm glad that Teri finally stood up to Dusty and bitched him out. And then she called him out on having feelings for Janet. Men are dumb. I love ya, Dusty, but you're dumb. :-P I could say the same thing about Jack right now, too! (With Holden on the side! :-P)

*facepalm*

Anyway. :-) Lucinda/Dusty scenes FTW! I adore them together, and today's little scene was no exception. I enjoy it oh so much when Lucinda comes to bust Dusty's chops. LOVE!

And tomorrow's episode - Paul's beating the everloving crap out of Mick (*crosses fingers*), and Alison...ugh. Alison's wearing the Dumb Bitch crown right now. Poor Casey. After Ali breaks his heart he should go hook up with Luke and Noah.

What? Who said that?

:-P
