And Liberty's Completely Freaky Storyline Is Fully Revealed - Today's Recap, 1/15/10
Whew. So Janet finally spills the beans to Liberty about her having leukemia.
God.
While I'm pretty sure this should be an interesting storyline (hopefully, depending on the writers), this subject totally freaks the crap out of me. I do not like the idea of cancer. Especially leukemia, which is typically an aggressive form of cancer, right? Ack. Scary.
I mean, I'm pretty sure that Liberty's going to make it, since the show wouldn't be bothering with recasting once Meredith exits, but still. When I read this spoiler ages ago, I was very surprised the show was taking Liberty in this direction. Just how many hits can one girl take before she folds?
And I say again: I like Janet and Dusty together - I do - but only as friends. Dusty can be there for her and support her and help Liberty out in any way he wants, I just don't want to see him romantic with Janet. I am still a passenger on the Jacket Ship, and I want to see Jack and Janet put their marriage back together.
And speaking of him...I don't know about you guys, but I spent the whole episode wishing Janet would call Jack and tell him about Liberty! Especially since he and Liberty sort of made their peace with each other (God, did anybody else want to slap Liberty's mouth when she was being a total skank to Jack? Argh!). They have this mutual "I need to blame someone" thing going on about Brad's death (and unfortunately, they both blame Jack, lol) so they're kind of standing on common ground at the moment. But despite the leukemia thing, which I feel bad about for Liberty, I don't think she deserves Jack's kind of devotion. I mean, I know Brad asked him to take care of her blahblah, but...Liberty's like 90% jerk, 10% sweetie when it comes to Jack. I wouldn't mind seeing her getting her mouth smacked for once, especially when she's being fresh. (Oh Lord, I sound like my mom! LOL!)
But now Jack's locking lips with Carly! Bow chicka bow bow! We all knew it was going to happen sooner or later. I don't know if it's going to go anywhere between them (looks like not, from the preview for next week), but that was a pretty nice kiss, wasn't it? And this is coming from a Jacket fan! :-P
You know, I might be okay with a Janet/Dusty just-close-friends, Jack/Carly thing for a while. It could be really interesting, to say the least.
But I gotta say, Parker taking the car to go see Liberty? Lame! :-P They can't go five minutes without talking to or seeing each other, and yet they deny their feelings for one another from here to eternity. Silly kids. Just get back together already. Liberty's gonna need Parker now more than ever, after he finds out about her health condition.
Oh, and yeah...there's NO WAY Parker could have driven a MANUAL CAR to the hospital. Not with a hairline fracture in his leg. Ow much? YEAH. Especially if he got caught in bumper-to-bumper traffic. :-) Then it would have been REALLY bad. :-P
So now onto...Molden? Holly? HA. Holden and Molly's names do not mix well. But let's talk about them, shall we?
All right, so I'm the first person to say that I did not like Molly's return to Oakdale. Well, scratch that...I didn't like her stunt in New York with "Congressman Blowhard" (as he's been aptly named by Jack) and her whole breakdown on-air (and subsequent firing). BUT! She and Holden together have since proved themselves to me, and I'm liking them a LOT. It also helps that Lily is being a Dumb Bitch(tm) right now. :-)
Holden is so cute. I just adore him. So, yeah, he went after Lily and they had a spat (and good GOD could Lily have acted more like a 12 year-old?!), but he went back to Molly and assured her that he's moving on with her and not thinking about Lily anymore. Which I'm satisfied with right now. After all, Molly is the mother of one his kids, and she was also Holden's first love. It's very cute to see them rekindling their romance, because you can tell that they very obviously care about one another.
And LILY. UGH. Remember that irrational hatred I was feeling towards her before? Well, it's not irrational anymore!!! She irked me to no end in today's episode. Every time she's around Molly she turns into a whiny schoolgirl who can't seem to keep her nose out of Holden's personal business. (Okay, yeah, so Molly threw it in Lily's face that she was sleeping with Holden, but still!) And lest we forget that Lily is married to Damian?! Um...yet another "pot calling the kettle black" scenario. She was saying something to the effect of "You can't trust Molly" WHILE STILL BEING MARRIED TO DAMIAN. Um, hello?! Perhaps you should go see what Husband of the Year is up to right now, Lily! You might be surprised at what you find out!
And Damian and Meg. Things are getting shitty again on Meg's end, no? And Meg, geez. I told you about those pills! PETER PETRELLI JUDGES YOU! You almost deserve to get caught, if for nothing else but being stupid about hiding the pills.
And Damian. Oh, Damian. At this point I just can't wait to see you panic when things start SERIOUSLY unraveling right before your eyes. Suffering succotash! You've twisted things all up and around and ass-sideways, haven't you? How do Damian and Meg keep track of what they're saying/doing to each other? This dangerous little "I hate you" dance they've got going on is making me dizzy.
And NutMeg appears once again! Meg's never gonna learn that flipping her shit is only going to make her situation worse, is she? Some people just don't get it. Isn't the definition of insanity doing the same thing over and over and expecting a different result? Meg better read up on her Albert Einstein if she wants any hope of improving her life status right now.
And! The world must be FLAT! Boys were on the preview for next week! Well, okay, it was only Luke and Doc Oliver, but I'LL TAKE IT! WHEE. I'm excited for Tuesday, especially since that's probably the only day next week we're going to get the boys. And I have to say, I'm kinda loving the fact that Doc Oliver and Luke hate each other's guts. :-) This is going to be fun, and you KNOW Van's gonna be fantastic! And now maybe Noah can remove the pole from his ass calm down towards Luke.
