And a Partridge in a Pear Tree - Today's Recap, 12/17/09

Dec 17, 2009 15:23

Okay.

Did I love Janet and Dusty's interactions today? Yes.

Did I absolutely adore Janet and Dusty's singing with the Christmas carolers on the bench in Old Town? Yes.

Do I love that they have this buddy-buddy boss-employee relationship now at Metro? Yes.

And do I love KnightInShiningArmor!Dusty who offers to take Janet to the wedding in order to not "waste her beautiful dress"? Yes.

But do I want Janet and Dusty to sleep together, even though Jack keeps dealing Janet one emotional blow after another? A RESOUNDING HELL NO.

And plus, poor Teri. You guys know I ship Teri/Dusty (or more precisely, I wish really, really hard for anything Teri/Dusty related, lol), so today's episode hurt me, too! First Dusty forgets to buy Teri fresh basil like he promised, and then he ends up bringing her cilantro instead. I mean, yeah, it was an accident, and Dusty's not a chef by any means so how the hell would he know the difference, but poor Teri felt so shafted nonetheless. And Janet's married. Married.

And LIBERTY. WHO PEED IN THAT GIRL'S CHEERIOS TODAY?! For reals! As far as I'm concerned, Liberty can go play in traffic with a blindfold on. She annoyed the everloving crap out of me today, trying to disguise her immaturity and anger as concern for her mother. Telling Janet that she's not only not going to college, but now she's going to drop out of high school and get a job instead. THIS IS NOT THE CORRECT WAY TO SUPPORT YOUR MOTHER. In fact, Liberty, you are making it harder on Janet instead! PS - No high school diploma and no college degree? Are you trying for a lifetime career at Java?! 'Cause that's what you're gonna end up getting without an education!

ARGH. Liberty is under my truck with Damian. I am running them over in my mind a thousand times HARDCORE. I don't even know if that sentence made sense but just consider them on my Shitlist, k? :-)

And JACK. Oh, Jack, what are you doing? I understand the whole Best Man thing. That's fine. In fact, that's rather generous of you. You are a good man. BUT YOU ARE FUCKING UP BIG-TIME WHEN IT COMES TO JANET. BIG-TIME. Like, your mistakes with Janet are the size of the universe, and they ain't gettin' any smaller. Jack needs to cut Carly out of his life for a while, and get himself back on track with his wife before she bangs Dusty!! C'mon, Jack. I know you can handle it. You've dealt with harder things than this!!

And, I say this with as much fondness as I can muster: Rosanna, it sucks to be you! Seriously. She's all "Wah-wah, you love Carly more" to Craig in the previews. Um, YEAH. You've seen this coming a million miles away. Seriously. Why would you marry a man that you know is still attracted, on some level, to your sister?! It's not as though Craig is never going to see Carly again...she's kinda related to you, therefore, I'm sure you will visit her a lot! You and Craig! Oy gevalt! Just peace out already; save us all the hassle.

:-)

I'm not angry, I swear. I actually enjoyed today's episode very, very much. But you know how Rosanna gets on my nerves sometimes....hehe.

Anyway, happier more shallow things: Jack helping Johnny with his tie was adorable. And his little speech about making a family work was, of course, so poignant. Jack should take his own advice. (And take my advice, Jack...run Liberty over with a truck first. Then work things out with Janet. 'Cause right now, Libby Lu's looking to ship her mom off with Mr. Donovan, wedding ring or no wedding ring.)

And hey, how's Janet, who's deeply Catholic, going to justify sleeping with Dusty, anyway? Aren't there these little passages in the Bible called the Ten Commandments, and in them is something about "Thou shalt not commit adultery"? Um, YEAH. Janet! For shame. (From Friends: "Ugly baby judges you!") HAHAHA.

Anyway. Sorry if today's recap came out more like a complaint. Didn't mean for it to. I swear I enjoyed the episode, I really did. Especially seeing Dusty belting out the Christmas carols like he did. ROFL. And it was very sweet of him to offer Janet his scarf to dry her eyes on. (And did you see the gross tissue he tried to offer her first?! AHAHAHA. She was like, "Yeah, no thanks." HAHA!) And I like how moony Teri is over Dusty. Hee!
