Hey Luke, You Don't Mind if Your Boyfriend Becomes Your Brother, Right? - Today's Recap, 11/17/09
Damian to Bob Hughes: Lily and I are adopting Noah.
Bob: *doubles over* PFFFFTT HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! Oh, you're serious?
All right, let's start with the boys, since they didn't get as much air time today. T_T (See my previous rant about Nuke vs. Carly airtime a couple posts before this one.)
Okay. So Lily and Damian have officially decided to adopt Noah. I'm over the shock of WTF?! so it all just kinda made me laugh. But there were also some really good things that came out of this.
First: Damian is totally Team Noah right now. He practically ran up and down the halls of Memorial holding a "WE LOVE NOAH" flag, chanting Noah's name. LOVE IT. I say again, Damian was the first person of Luke's family to actually allude to Noah as a son, and he continued with it today. Makes me very happy. And the fact that Lily is so gung-ho about it makes me happy, too. And what makes me HAPPIEST of all, is the fact that Damian and Lily said that they are adopting Noah so that LUKE can have a say in his medical decisions. NOT THEM. LUKE. AS IT SHOULD BE. So, I say good on ya, Lily and Damian! (Although there is a part of me that wishes it was Holden and Lily instead. I just adore Holden and Noah.)
Second: Noah's FINALLY going into surgery! Geez. ATWT: "Oh, he's absolutely dying of a brain hemorrhage, but let's all sit around and talk about it for a while." *FACEPALM* Thank God they're finally getting him into the OR. I mean, we knew it was going to happen, but...finally, it did. Yay.
Okay, what I didn't like about the Nuke bits? When Holden was trying to explain to Lily that they should stop and talk to Luke first to see what Luke wanted to do about Noah, and Luke comes out and snaps, "I want you to back off" at Holden. I know Luke is totally stressed out and he's emotionally torn up and all that, but I would have slapped his mouth if I were Holden. Luke was out of line. And you guys know how much I adore Luke. I just don't think he should have snapped at Holden like that, especially when Holden was trying to look out for him. (Although Luke TOTES made up for it when he thanked Holden later and HUGGED HIM and HELD ON TO HIM WITH HIS HEAD ON HOLDEN'S SHOULDER. Oh, dear God. The cuteness, it kills.)
And Meg. Oh, yes, how'd you guess I wasn't going to like the Meg bits? I'm having a really hard time believing that she's actually worried about Luke and Noah. Every time she starts talking about how she wants the best for them, her conversations morph into the situation with Officer Grady and Damian's marriage to Lily. She should stick to one topic right now, if she wants me to believe her. Otherwise, I ain't buying the family sympathy card she's trying to play.
Oh, and also? Damian and Meg sucking face in the empty hospital room. IS NO ONE ON THIS SHOW ABLE TO BE FAITHFUL?! Argghh. Y'know, Holden walked right by the room while they were playing tonsil hockey - how interesting would it have been if he had looked in the window while passing by and had seen them? That would give this fire some fuel, don'tcha think? Of course, Lily wouldn't believe Holden no matter what he said, but...it could be nice and soapy!
All right. Now on to Carly. I enjoyed her very much today. Especially the little bit at the bar when she asked the bartender how many she had, he replied "three", and Craig's jaw fell through the floor. Of course, it turned out to be three seltzers that she drank, and nothing more. LOL. Way to give Craig a heart attack, girl. And the scene in the room with the chocolate - UH-OH! One of two things is happening: either Carly is going to seduce Craig back into her arms and keep him this time, or she's going to seduce him back into her arms and then toss him out on his ass once Rosanna finds out and leaves him. I guess we'll have to wait and see which one! (And y'know, for all the shit that Carly has given Craig about him loving Rosanna now, she seems to have forgotten that she STOOD HIM UP on their WEDDING DAY. Remember that, Carly? You got Holden in your hotel room and tried to sleep with him instead of marrying Craig!)
Carly's speech about Jack today, about how he'd pulled her back from the brink so many times before, was just so sweet and poignant. I loved it. Before I was kinda all, "Why are you chasing him down?" but now I totally understand, and I want her to keep going. Jack needs a friend, someone who understands him and knows him well and will support him to the ends of the Earth. Carly is that person. (Janet could be that person, too, but Jack seems to be boycotting Janet like she's got the plague right now.)
And, okay...I openly admit, I know next to nothing about Molly, but is she always a spazz like she was today? Seriously. I was kinda shaking my head at the absurdity of her bits of the show. I don't know if it was the writing, the acting, or the actual storyline, but something was off for me. I didn't really feel that bad for her, and the stunt she pulled on live air during her newscast? What did she expect, to be commended for that? She was like a 10-year-old girl trying to get back at the meanie who pulled her hair on the playground. But again, I don't know much about Molly. I will educate myself more on her before her next episode, I promise. :-)
And we got to see Emma today! Yay. Emma is so pretty. I love her. I might be a little biased, because she reminds me of my grandmother, who passed away when I was nine, but still. I love Emma. She's sweet and adorable and a good mommy. :-)
And we get Casey and Ali and Maddie tomorrow! Whee!
