And Luke Finally Gets to Introduce His Fist to Mason's Face - Today's Recap, 11/16/09

NOAH!!!

Okay. Whew. Where to start? Today's episode was jam-packed with emotion and turmoil and near-death experiences!

Okay, at first, I admit, I was totally eyerolling at Meg, not only for her antics with Damian (Creepy Meg is creepy, lurking outside his bathroom while he's hugging Lily!), but also when she suddenly showed up at the hospital in her scrubs, because I thought she was merely just going to stalk Damian for a while longer. But it turned out that she was able to get Luke in to see Noah, and if that's all she's good for, I'm totally okay with that! :-)

And...Oh, God. That scene with Luke and Noah. Oh, my heart. How frigging sweet was it that Luke kissed Noah's hand twice and told him that he loved him. GAH. The boys' love does not EVER get old. I could listen to them be gaga over each other every second of every day.

And also, I just want to point out...this is not the first time Noah's been in the hospital, but all of a sudden they need his insurance? What about when he was treated for a gunshot wound? That's not exactly just a scratch on the arm, y'know? Why didn't they need insurance for that?

And, don't most Universities offer insurance to their students? I remember my school did, because I had to waive it in favor of my parents' insurance policy.

Anyway, that's all I'm going to say about that. Apparently ATWT has this story set up just the way they want it, and we have no say in that, no matter how much sense it does or doesn't make. :-P

Okay. Back to the show. :-)

Holden today. Oh, Holden. I have missed you so. very. MUCH! Today's episode was one of the quintessential reasons of why I adore Holden. First, I adore the fact that Holden was the first person (after the paramedics, of course) that Luke called. And I love that he kept calm throughout the whole thing, for Luke's sake. And I also like that he called Lily's attention to everything that happened, before it could get all twisted around. And when Damian accused Holden of being jealous that Luke had confided in him and not Holden, and he replied, "Oh, don't flatter yourself"? Awesome. I loves me some Papa Holden!

Back to Luke. Oh, Luke. It was what, five seconds after Noah got hurt that he uttered his first "It was all my fault"? Poor baby. We all knew he was going to blame himself for this, and what's worse, Noah's going to blame him, too. I really hope that Noah just lashes out from anger and then later apologizes, because he has to know that Luke would never do anything to hurt him. Especially not something of this magnitude. And whether he believes it or not, Noah is going to need Luke to be there for him in order to get through this recovery.

And speaking of that! When Luke mentioned how Noah just has this way of just being there? How Noah was there for him when he was in the wheelchair? *SOB* GAH I love these boys.

And MASON! AHAHAHAHA. Asshole. Seriously. When Luke FINALLY punched him (God, Luke, I've been waiting for that for like, EVER!) I was so happy. So now Mason limps off to lick his wounds and wallow in his sorrow. But not after Luke tells him to get out of his face, and warns him not to come back! Seriously, dude. Do not mess with the Grimaldis. You'll find yourself on the business end of a foot in the ass if you do. PS - THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU KISS YOUR STUDENTS! Stop being bitter about it. You made your bed!

But...I have to say...man, ATWT did a number on Mason. Remember when he first came on the show, and he was all supportive of Luke and Noah's relationship, and then he sloooowllly started developing feelings for Noah and it was all kinda sweet and interesting? The writers made him do a total 180 and he went from sweet and supportive to out-and-out dickhead in like, 2 seconds flat. Seriously.

Anyway, more Luke. Anyone love how he just kept rambling on about how he wanted everyone to know who Noah was and that Noah was very VERY loved? Awww! And his "We're very committed to each other! He lives with me!" AWWWW! And how adamant he was about the doctors saving Noah's eyesight. *_*

Sidenote: this whole scenario in the hospital absolutely infuriates me. INFURIATES ME. There is NO REASON why a life partner shouldn't be able to speak on his other's behalf. Seriously. Just because they're two people of the same sex doesn't mean they should be treated differently. ARGGHHH. I can't wait for the day when same-sex marriage is legalized and all the other good stuff follows. There's no reason why they should be treated any differently!

All right. On to the rest of the show. :-)

Dusty and Teri today. Oh, man, I love Dusty, I really do. I wondered why he was fidgeting so much when he was eating her casserole! Apparently, Dusty and fennel are not friends. Him taking her up to his room so she could stab him in the thigh with the epi-pen was hysterical. I know, it probably wasn't supposed to be, but it really was, especially since Dusty was so nonchalant about it and Teri was freaking out over it! She just kept standing there with the pen stuck in his thigh screaming, "Did I do it? Did I do it?" AHAHAHAHA. Teri. That was such a great, funny scene. :-) "In ten minutes I won't be able to breathe." Dusty was so calm about it! HAHAHA.

You know, it's a shame that Dusty isn't going to be interested in Teri, because I think they would be totally cute together.

And Dusty today with Liberty. I've said it (more than) once before, and I'll say it again: Dusty is Oakdale's own Fixer Upper! Not only does he save Liberty from making an extended ass of herself at Yo's, but then he inspires her to write her college application essay, which no one else on the planet had been able to do. Go Dusty!

And Liberty. Oh, Liberty. You're an idiot sometimes, aren't you? LOL. I'm glad to see her finally getting her life back on track, though. And now maybe she can stop being such a jerk to Parker. Although, I have to say, I'm an extremely honest person - sometimes to a fault - but even I would not have told Janet everything that Liberty told her when Dusty brought her home. "Hey, Mom, I blatantly lied to your face about going to library and instead went to get shitfaced, but Dusty stopped me! Aren't you proud of me?" UGH. I think just from her interaction with Dusty alone, Liberty learned her lesson. There really wasn't a need for her to spill everything to Janet. She could have just let Dusty cover for her and no one would have been the wiser. She still would have gotten her essay done regardless. (Btw, all of that was a weird thing for me to say just now, because I think honesty is the best policy! LOL.)

And Janet. Poor Janet. She's really dealing with so much now. It's bad enough that Jack is missing and won't let her know how/where he is. But she's contending with Liberty's antics on top of it, and she lost Brad, too. I feel bad for Janet. I would not want to be in her shoes, not at all. I'm really glad Dusty gave her a hug before he left the farm. One little hug can go a long way sometimes, you know?

Oh, and random: With Holden's words about Damian today, I am totally convinced that he will NEVER EVER trust Damian. I mean like, NEVER. I mean like, the world could be ending and the only thing to save it would be for Holden to trust Damian and HE STILL WOULDN'T DO IT. :-) Also, there is a small part of me that would have liked to see Luke going to Holden instead of Damian about the whole Mason debacle. I really would have liked to see what Holden would have said about the whole thing.

PS - NOAH'S PHONE HAS A PICTURE OF HIM AND LUKE ON IT! AWWWWWW! (Actually it was a pic of Van and Jake, but whatevs. :-))

PPS - I apologize if today's recap seems all over the place. While writing, I was being terrorized by a house centipede that decided it was going to crawl on the ceiling directly over my head and THEN FALL DIRECTLY IN FRONT OF ME ONTO MY DESK. UUGGHHHHHH. I do NOT do well with bugs. Especially ones that have a lot of legs. >_< When I screamed I think I gave my roommate a heart attack. She came running in like my room was on fire. Oh, NYC apartments, how I love you. (Actually, I shouldn't complain. We don't get a lot of bugs here, believe it or not! :-))
