Okay. I don't want to be one of those "it wasn't enough for me" Nuke fangirls, but Luke and Noah's parts in today's episode totally wasn't enough for me. I am not satisfied.
I suppose that is a good thing, though, since we know today's encounter with Mason is leading up to bigger and better things *crosses fingers*, but still. I am left wanting more. Much more.
But let's talk about the things I did like! First of all, I just want to commend Jake on his Noah. Damn you, Jake, you make me love Noah even more than I thought possible. Noah was absolutely fricking adorable today, all flustered and uncomfortable, slinking away from Mason's touch and immediately running to Luke, his comfort zone. (HEE.) Also, did you notice how when Noah saw Luke at Java, he touched Luke's knee (at the "Man, am I glad to see you" part) as he sat down? I appreciate those little things that remind us of the boys' closeness, I really do. Little reaffirming touches and glances (like the one Luke and Noah exchanged in the office after Luke reassured Mason that he could NEVER be a homewrecker in their relationship (hehe, go Luke)) really add another level to the boys onscreen. And since I know that it's Van and Jake who add all the small touches, they make me kinda wanna squee all over the place. ^_^ I love you, boys. I love both Luke and Noah AND both Van and Jake.
And it was so nice seeing Luke back as his usual spunky self. He listened to Noah to get the whole story straight, then immediately jumped up to take action. Oh, yeah. I have missed this Luke! He's been so docile lately. ^_^ Love seeing him all up and out for setting the record straight. And I love LOVE LOVE that he wanted to protect Noah so much. He probably could have gone to talk to Mason without Noah, hahahaha! I love this assertive side of Luke. *hugs him*
And also, I figured out (from last week's episode) what was bugging me about the boys' relationship lately. I had thought that it was just the lack of their general, all-around sweetness with each other, but what was actually bugging me was the lack of Luke's all-around sweetness. We had tons and tons of lovely sweetness from Noah ("You, who I love more than my own life" - GUH), but Luke's sweet adorableness had been put on the back burner (which is totally understandable, considering Holden's situation) for a while. So, last week, when Luke delivered that, "Well...I want you around for everything" line, I finally realized what I had been missing. Van does that adorable flirty I LOVE YOU face with the eyes and the half-smile and the soft voice and the....GOD. I don't really have to explain anymore, do I? ^_^ You guys get it. ^_^
Short of the long: I was so happy to see Luke's sweetness towards Noah back. Now they should stay super mushy-gushy with each other so we all can melt into puddles of fangirl goo. ^_^ And DieMasonDie!Luke FTW. ^_~
Gotta say though, I felt bad for Mason today. He effed it up pretty good, didn't he? Poor guy. I can understand that his breakup with George would have left him reeling. Do you guys remember that breakup scene at Metro? George practically sawed Mason in half with his angry glare. And then he embarrassed the crap out of Mason in front of his student by not keeping their argument under wraps, and then he just ABANDONED Mason at the table! George sucks. So, if it's true, and Mason really is freaking out because of George leaving him, I can understand that. I've been left reeling by asshole boyfriends before; I can totally relate. ^_^ And besides, who wouldn't have a crush on Noah?! Boy's a fricken hottie!
But, I guess the real question is, was Mason's explanation the truth?! I hope we shall find out!
But I didn't like the way the Mason Confrontation ended. It was too quick, and too easy. Luke was all riled up, then he called Mason out, but then he just shook his hand and was immediately calm again. Argh. It was cool that they fixed it ("fixed it"), but...it was too quick for me. I wanted more ranting and raving from Luke. (I'm starting to think that I am an angry person inside and am living vicariously through Luke...haha!)
And the rest of the episode - what can I say? Let me be blunt: Lily and Meg are dumb bitches right now. I seriously want to slap both of them upside the head. Damian is getting on my nerves because when he first came back to Oakdale I loved the crap out of him and now I'm pissed that he's lying his ass off to everyone. Jack is still remaining awesome in my book. Lucinda needs to swing Lily around by her hair if that's the only way to get her daughter to listen to her reasoning. And Maeve was so sad today and I JUST WANT HOLDEN TO FRIGGING COME HOME ALREADY. And somebody, please, for the love of all that's holy, RUN EB OVER WITH A TRUCK. TWICE. BACK UP, AND THEN RUN HIM OVER AGAIN. Please?!
But, as always, looking forward to next week! ^_^ Why no boys on preview?! Disgruntled fangirl is disgruntled. ^_^
