I packed a week of clothes, a towel, spare pair of shoes, karate gi,
umbrella, and sleeping bag into my carry-on. Be envious of
my superior size!
The view from an 11th floor condo in
northern Belltown was beautiful. Someday people will come to Seattle
from all over to see its fine examples of turn-of-the-century
architecture. :)
Seattle's hostels are awesome. I'm definitely staying at the HI
in Chinatown next time. Clean, friendly, convenient, comfortable,
and cheap. This place made me happy. Good hostel > hotel.
Also, much easier to find real Chinese food in Seattle's Chinatown
restaurants than SF's.
Did you know the houseboats on Lake Union still float on rafts of giant
tree trunks from the early 20th century? We got to visit one for
takeout soup.
For once, I had the pleasant experience of time slowing down. Spent Saturday
with friends-of-friends on a grassy "beach" next to a lake. For hours.
That seemed like more hours.
Did I mention the HI in Seattle is awesome? I'd trade my bed here
for one of theirs. What's the point of me having a queen anyway?
Maybe it's just the weather was so nice, I could sleep with the
windows open~
