Explain it to me, in words that I can understand.

Drabbles in the theme of Stargate: Atlantis, with the eye to memorising a bunch of concepts and definitions. All the fault of
kate  who started it off here.

Inexorable:

Sheppard felt the inexorable pull of Atlantis every time he stepped back onto earth, to a world that was a little more dead than it should have been.  It was noticeable in the ground beneath, which was never as alive as Atlantis could be, the lights that wouldn’t brighten at his wish, the walls that lacked static to his touch.  Every minute that slipped past was a hook beneath his skin, a whisper to his mind to come home, John, come back, and he knew it was more than a homesickness or a longing that spoke into the earth’s silence.

Information Arbitrage: (risk-free profit)

And ok. This was supposed to be the text of the cut:

Arbitrage: The practice of taking advantage of a price-difference between 2 or more markets (Atlantis' personnel’s individual valuations of chocolate), through combinations of matching deals (John "sells" his time for chocolate) that capitalises on the imbalance in value, with profit being the difference of the market prices (John gets chocolate for ways that he likes spending his time, whilst selling the cookies to get out of doing things he doesn’t want to do).

Which would then be followed by the text itself. But Dreamwidth is not having the above as the text of the cut. So instead, please follow the chocolate chip cookies.

Teyla: he traded her out of the block of milk chocolate with the promise of a night's babysitting.

Ronon: the dark chocolate was wrestled away with the promise of target practice with Sam’s newly modified blasters before anyone else.

Lorne: the white chocolate was parted with on the most solemn of oaths that John would be the one explaining and demonstrating to the newest arrivals the bartering process of PX2-010 - the one that involved copious amounts of nudity.

Rodney: John didn’t waste his time trying to extract any chocolate from Rodney.

John capitalised on his success by producing a batch of triple-chocolate-chip cookies, and proceeded to trade his way out of various tasks as he held court in the mess, the scent of the fresh baking tempting all within range.  Later, he hand-delivered a second batch to Lorne and the others who had so helpfully contributed - as well as Rodney.
