First week, first nerves

Oct 11, 2009 19:38

So mostly survived the first "proper" week of university intact. Given that I only had to attend lectures and not actual tutorials, this wasn't hard. This week will be more of the test, wherein we've actually got to do all the work and reading and talk in the tutorials which start this week.

Although I already screwed up my presentation, and even though the point of it was to learn how we can improve, I'm still not happy. I can't stand my own voice on voicemail, so having to go back and watch AND listen to myself is going to be horrific. Not to mention that it'll be done in front of a group of peers. I'm already feeling sick with the embarrassment of how badly the presentation fell apart at the end. Still, at least the analysing session is not for another 2 weeks.

I also caved and let mum pay for half the plane ticket, with the end result being that mum and I are both going home in February for Chinese New Year.  10 days of feasting awaits!
