Job Hunting - Degree-centric

Jan 15, 2009 00:00

After a pathetic attempt at self-discipline, which is never possible at home, I finally completed my two applications for jobs with English Heritage.  Now I have to sit back and wait to be rejected.  I'd like at least to get an interview, as interview practise is always valuable.  Of course, the ultimate outside chance would be that I actually got one of the jobs, but I suspect highly unlikely.  And I hate doing the whole "give an example of a creative solution to a problem" or "describe a difficult relationship at work, the problem and how you overcame it".

On the other hand, finally two jobs that are history-related.  If I ever managed to get a job in the field, maybe I can finally justify to my mother my history degree.  Otherwise, I will forever be the child that did a pointless subject that failed to get her a job.

Maybe the problem with home is the negative atmosphere.

work, life, job
