Will this day never end?

Had a nice caffeine-withdrawal headache by the time I got home last night, so I wound up blowing off The Daily Show/The Colbert Report, Netflix, and lace knitting in favor of going to bed early. Even without counting the two hours I spent zonked on the bed before getting up to properly go to bed, I got nine hours of sleep, which was a good thing. I think I can look forward to accomplishing something or other tonight and have a hope of making it to the gym tomorrow morning.

Mmkay, caught up with the friends list and not so much doing. (Or linking, for that matter.) Think I'll take my time on posting today on the off chance of turning up something else this afternoon...

Aside from this lovely thing from metafandom: Comparing Mal Reynolds to the Tenth Doctor, as a photoessay. I'm just here for the pretty, but there's certainly quite a bit of that...

Oh, wait, I hit refresh and ravenclawdrew passes along that FOX DVD box sets are at 50% on Amazon. Good lord, I can finally pick up that third season of Buffy brandnew for $20. (Plus shipping or a $5 item off my wishlist, of course. Actually, I wound up going for the DVD set plus a $10 lace knitting book.)

Okay, wandering back over to my Yahoo! page: "Road deaths are a global epidemic on the scale of malaria and tuberculosis and world leaders must do more to address the issue, a report said on Thursday."

"The first vaccine to protect against most cervical cancer won federal approval Thursday." Yay.

Speaking of good news found on Yahoo! today, "Senate rejects gay marriage amendment," and, "Senate rejects effort to cut estate tax."

I hit refresh again and again on my Yahoo! page, seeking new headlines or comments to reply to. I recheck my friends list in the hopes of something new to read. I hit Yahoo! again:

"Vice President Dick Cheney on Thursday defended himself against accusations by a leading Republican senator that he worked to thwart Senate plans to make telephone executives testify at a hearing about a U.S. domestic spying program."

Aargh. 2.5 hours till I can go home and watch something and knit lace. And another 8 hours to get through tomorrow.

Posting now because I've got only another hour left to kill. Also, want to remember to use the icon I just gacked from darthmaligna.
