I never meant to be so bad to you...

...one thing i swore that i would never do.
a look from you and i would fall from grace,
and that would wipe that smile right from your face.

WOot WOOT woo WOOT WOOT!

So here it is the end of another wild and crazy summer. Hey, doesnt that sound like an eighties movie featuring John Cusack? lol

soo, lets see... august. starting with AFO.

Of course, this is always my favorite con of the year, and with all the cons i hit, thats saying a lot. Well, it's still my 'home con' so to speak. As always it was truely awesome getting to see all those that i get to see once or twice a year. The Anime Checkers match was really a lot of fun, and im galad that i took the chance to participate in it, as well as being given that chance of course. I'll admit, i was a little wpprehensive about offending peeps and cheap shots, bt it actually came off really well, and i was proud to be a part of it. And i dont think ive ever talked with roy as much as i did that weekend after the match. I was kinda shocked to see as many new faces at my robotech panel. And after expo, this year i really had a lot to share with the robotech fans that came to it. Saturday night was prolly the high point of the weekend. A 15 min break to have a drink and chat with demonknight back at my room turned into a 2 hr casual social session with him, Dora, (dora's) tom, Botan Chan, Gizzy, and... a couple others i cant remember. And then dinner at Kampai was fun.

Onto Iowa goodieness.

I was really psyched that my little brother drew, is wife sara, and their baby Lincoln just happened to be coming to my dad's place the same weekend i was up there for Anime Iowa. Got to see Lincoln for the first time, and catch up with what amounts to half my family.

Anime Iowa. Possibly the happiest ive been all year. Theres just something about that con. I think it combines the iowan small town kid in me with the floridian southern boy/anime fanboy in a way that very few events can. Last year i kinda kept a low profile. It was my first year at that con, in a mostly unfamiliar setting and i really just wanted to take it all in. Not this year. This year a lot of the staff and some of the volunteers had either had a chance to meet me last year, or more likely this year they got to see me when i stepped from the shadows so to speak. LOL... i think i was the only participant at the Anime Improv event that was 'volunteered' by the guys (Josh and Evan) running the event. But hey, my element, right? Steve's "how to talk to girls" panel was good as always. I ended up wedged between Steve and Chris Ayers (whom i met for the first time at AI; cool guy), and for the most part just grinned, chuckled, and emphatically nodded while the panel ran. I ended up roomin with a couple of guys that i met thorough the AI forums, and as hesitant as i am to room with people i havent actually met in person, it actually worked out well. My friend Katie remarked that i had a room full of 'puppies' (they were all in the 20-22 age range). I introduced them to the Fuzzy method of con attendance, and one of them, Josh, ended up hooking up with a rather attractive young lady before the weekend was up. YOU GO DUDER! Got to have dinner with Steve, Katie, and a few other dealers/artists saturday night. Its always nice to just take an hour or two to get away from the craziness of the con and spend a few moments among friends.
...do you rememeber when we used to dance?
and incidents arose from circumstance.

lol... i think at one point i was actually (sober) singing that song in the elevator.

Anyways, back to the fun of Universal and Nickelodeon. I've actually had, well, i'll stop shy of saying 'more free time' but more like, ive actually had a few moments to catch my breath, and its good.

Unfortunately, due to just the overall complicatedness (is that a real word?) i decided not to go to Dragoncon this year. And, to be honest, given the days that it's falling on this year, its prolly a good thing

all for now (what, thats not enough?!)
