I went to the dentist today (oh how exciting you must say!), but actually it kinda was. I hate hate HATE the dentist. My mouth is basically the size of a small child's, which does not lend itself to allowing hands in to scrap off unwanted plaque. Also, after grinding my teeth since birth, the muscles that control my jaw are super tight and do not like to stretch open for long periods of time. I have been going to the same dental hygienist since I was a wee tot, but my insurance now does not let me go to her practice (boo, I say). She is sooo super sweet and gentle with my gums/jaw issues. I have loved being her patient. After finding this out last year, I went to another dentist on the recommendation of my sister. I was impressed by their office and professionalism, but after having a terrible root canal experience that had the dentist complaining about the size of my mouth the entire time while I was in immense pain from keeping my mouth open I was basically done with him. I went to my grandfather's dentist today. She is from Finland and is soo super cute. She touches everything like it's a fragile piece of china and smells just like dryer sheets (if someone is going to be close to you for an hour, smell is key). I loved that she took care of everything herself. She cleaned my teeth, checked for cavities, polished my teeth, and I got this cute little travel case with a tooth brush, tooth paste, and floss. It was great. The dental office was decorated lovely as well. The chairs were all black leather and everything was super clean.
