and maybe thats how I'm supposed to feel

I'd much rather be outside maybe observing the moon and the stars that have become so hard to see
I'd much rather be outside and maybe you could be outside with me
we could look at the stars and the moon and new york city
we could talk about everything, we could talk about nothing

i did not imagine that i would ever be where i am right now
no one dreams of attending school after high school
("high school is over, you can go pursue your dreams now!")
i once had a dream to travel all over the world
where did that dream go? I'm still stuck in Jersey
everything here is the antithesis of everything I have ever dreamed of
I have this strange sort of homesickness for a place I can barely remember, but it's a place I've always dreamed of returning to:
manhattan, the gold-digger
