She is a tiny tortoiseshell-calico kitty with striped legs, black paws, and a firm conviction that she can kick anything's ass. But she also purrs, nuzzles, and makes cutes in a most heartbreaking way.
Many pictures have been taken and will appear on myspace in true crazy-cat-lady fashion.
Attending the first night of The Five Fires at Gallery Five made me realize how much I still miss dancing. I'm going to start classes once I shake off the rust in the privacy of the apartment. Three one-hour sessions so far; I'm at 45 degrees and sweating like ice tea in the sunshine, but damn: I remember! For the first time in my life, I love my legs. They are hairy and toned (more from the biking than three awkward hours) and have taken on a feral, masculine appearance that I find most pleasing.
I've also spent some time unraveling my mind.
Lady Di bought the movie "23" and it mentions in passing the Mayan calender ending in the year 2012. Well, suppose I/we have five more years, there's much pain and stagnation from the last two. No, it's not all been horrible, but it's been a revelation on how people's predatory aspects can rise to the surface when they sense someone else is wounded. But I don't believe we're all destined to be sharks or sheep. We can be good, brave people.
And why should we? So we can be Happy.
Oh. Zee kitty is named Turandot because I've had her for over a week and had not decided on a name. Turandot was far prettier than "Rumpelstiltskin" or "Guess". It also honors Pavarotti's passing; and is a suitable name for a cat, since they all have a touch of the "beautiful, thankless, lady".
I posted, therefore I am. Ciao.
