Reading journal

Oct 26, 2007 19:58

I'm going to turn my LJ into a reading journal since I have nothing going on in my life except reading and writing. I'll try to post something after each text that I finish. Hopefully, this will serve at least two functions: 1) to organize my thoughts before discussing them in seminar/to a faculty member and 2) to have an informal forum in which I can be as non-academic about my responses to texts as I want and 3) [Karl forced my hand again] to persuade others to read along with me.

First up will be Amelia Alderson Opie's Adeline Mowbray or, the Mother and the Daughter (1801). I'm just about finished with the book, so I hope to have something up soon. Also, I think I'm going to make it friends only to avoid any academic plagiarism.
