The final call has been made, no Burning Man for us this year. Time and resources are too little. This is the only responsible move. Being responsible sucks sometimes. I am not really disappointed because I am happier feeling like my family is taken care of. I am even happy for Ish to discover what it is like to run without me. Also, getting ( Read more... )

I hear you loud and clear; we are totally in the same boat.

I hate being responsible sometimes (though other times it feels pretty darn good).

mrlich and I are gonna burn something at my friend Kevin's house, doggone it... I don't care if it's just an old phone book that's been sculpted to look like an effigy. We're gonna burn something!

You guys can always come on up to Delaware for BURNING KIRBY (don't ask about the name) and for my book release party. We can even go tubing!

Not sure yet, but it'll be sometime in late August. I'll keep you posted, with plenty of lead time! (And no pressure, of course.)

Though if I had to guess, it'd be sometime around the Perseids (August 12-13ish) so we could burn crap and then stay up all night to watch the meteors. My pal Kevin's place is great for skywatching, especially considering how close to big bright cities we are.

Anyway, I'll keep you posted.

We hire all the time. You have to first fill out a State job form.

We have some breaks when the training classes are full. I'll send you more info in an email.
