so we didn't get the house. but i guess we can't be mad b/c the guy did the honorable thing by sticking to the first offer he had accepted before 3 other people tried to get it.
back in the hunt i suppose. and hey you never know- matt's folks both told us that the houses they both have right now they had lost bids on and then were contacted a week later when the original bidders fell through. i'm not holding my breath.
the good news- we have a great agent, the seller told us our offer was really strong and that he originally was going with ours- he just wanted to do the right thing. can't complain really. but we will be the first person he calls he said- he promised he wont put it back on the market if these bidders fall through. good enough for me.
in the mean time we will find some new houses to poke through in hopes of finding "the one!"
