Recent debates on the internet over the relative nerdiness of Big Bang Theory compared to Community have left me feeling a little uncertain, mostly because I enjoy both shows and I don't want Big Bang Theory to be seen as the villain hogging Community's time slot by making nerdy jokes in an "accessible" manner i.e. by making them about nerds rather than for nerds when actually the show has its moments where non-nerdy people would have no chance of understanding the joke whatsoever and Penny is a better character than people give her credit. But I can see why actual nerds tend to have negative feelings towards Big Bang Theory and I really, really don't want Community to be canceled because it happened to share a time slot with that show, so. Torn.
Of course, if we are debating purely on a level of which show can do the geekiest thing possible, I'm going to go with the one that did a bit parodying the Star Wars Christmas Special with their own pre-existing parody of Doctor Who.
Because good god, Community, I think you may have just hit nerd critical mass.
