Slight use of perspective! I feel so proud.

I'M SORRY LUNGE, BUT YOU'RE JUST NOT VERY GOOD AT BEING FEMALE. Whereas Eva can be as brittle and unhappy in either gender! And now some bonus ladyTenma and Dietricha, for maximum adorable.

BFFS IN ANY UNIVERSE, TRUFAX. Ignore the fail!duffel bag. Actually, drawing it made me wonder--what do they keep in there? They only have one outfit each that we've seen, which is its own issue really, and they don't seem to have any other stuff with them. And where do they sleep, how do they have money, do they really rely on the kindness of strangers to pay for their meals--THIS IS WHAT FANFIC IS FOR but I can't read any for fear of spoilers, sob sob.

EPISODES. I uh had honestly forgotten who Muller was, and so was a little confused for a while, but I did eventually figure it out. And then I remembered that I didn't really care about him. ALSO, TIMELINE ISSUES. It said three years had passed, which, what. DIETER WOULD HAVE HIT PUBERTY BY NOW. But somewhere else they said one year? Which makes more sense? Except then Muller would have had to meet, marry, and live with Barbara in just one year, which seems kind of fast. So--I don't know. Also I am pretty sure Tenma would not have managed to go three years without getting caught by the cops, except then the second episode came and hey what do you know! OH LUNGE, FURTHER PROOF THAT CRAZY DOES NOT MEAN INCOMPETENCE but seriously you're pretty crazy, you might want to get help with that.

I do not mind seeing stuff about other characters, at least usually, but I was maybe a little overjoyed when Tenma actually showed up. I mean, I kind of wanted to hit him for going a place where everybody knew about a crime they thought he'd committed, but it is an established fact that Tenma is not always that smart in these areas. I did like seeing the nice little extra subversion of the genre, though--when most action heroes are faced with someone who intends to kill them while they're unarmed, they tend to utilize furniture-fu and take advantage of the law of Stormtrooper accuracy until they can become armed, but Tenma? Just runs the fuck away. Maybe he is smart after all! And I do kind of have a thing for cute guys in peril, but this is the first time I've actually felt guilty about it, since he just looked so terrified. And now, my version of the conversation in the barn:

LUNGE: My deductions have led me to conclude that you are insane.
TENMA: ...YOU JUST TRIED TO KILL AN UNARMED MAN.
LUNGE: Insaaaane.
TENMA: AND YET I'M STILL TRYING TO SAVE YOUR LIFE.
LUNGE: brb passing out from blood loss before you can explain
TENMA: *headdesk*

Oh Tenma, saving the life of a crazy person who wants to kill you? Well. Tenma. That is all that needs to be said, really.

SO WHERE WAS DIETER DURING ALL OF THIS, HUH. Another question of logistics that goes unanswered! My personal theory is that Tenma just leaves him at the closest playground whenever he has to go do something extra-dangerous. Dieter can totally play well with the other children! Provided the other children don't ask him why he's there alone, or when his parents are going to pick him up.

(Also also--at first I was a little miffed that Nina was a bit damsel-in-distress-y, but then I realized that if it had been Tenma in the same situation nothing would have gone any differently. This is why I love this series so much, you guys.

everything's better with genderfuck, art, art: monster, episode ramblings:monster, monster, i like anime apparently
