Apart from Iron Man and HSM3, which are givens, In Bruges was my favourite film I saw in the cinema last year. And then I bought it on DVD and it got better every time I watched it. Seriously oh my god I love it so much. If your professor doesn't show it to you, please seek it out on your own steam! It deserves to be winning far more awards than it actually is )8

I cry every time.
Happy-Go-Lucky. Mike Leigh. I wish I could convey to you how much I love every single movie Mike Leigh has made. He's British. He's a genius. He gets a bunch of actors he likes together and they workshop for sixish months and he writes a script from what they've improvised. He's...brilliant.
Watch Naked (It has David Thewlis!), and Topsy-Turvy (It has Andy Serkis and Jim Broadbent and is about Gilbert and Sullivan!), and Career Girls (It is beautiful!) and Secrets and Lies...and pretty much everything he's ever done.
