procrastination posting
Posting here to further avoid writing a paper for my spanish lit. class. yuck. doing a great job avoiding it, though -- moved my bed, now my room feels "new" and the cold draft from the window is no longer directly over my head. nice.
um. so I'm not getting surgery over xmas break as originally thought. my back (ruptured disc) issue is certainly still present, but is drastically more manageable ever since the first steroid treatment. I can get through most days without needing the narcotics, woot. so surgery seems too drastic a measure for this level of a problem. going to look into finding a new, more back-specialized physical therapist at this point.
work on my album is awaiting the end of the school term. it should see release via ArtofFact Records sometime in first quarter 2010. I'm already buzzed about writing the second album. that's just how this stuff goes. been digging deeper into NI' s Massive softsynth and the ableton Operator synth to really start building/designing sounds from scratch. oscillator scratch, that is. it's super fun.
school kinda sucks. i like going down to PSU twice a week, I like feeling like a student, I like that campus-life feeling, and I like that my spanish does get to improve bit by bit thanks to these classes....but I think I get more and better practice simply chatting with the janitor at work. seriously. school is school is school. you do it and you get the degree and run.
otherwise feeling ok but everything's shifting around a bit, as it usually does this time of year. trying as usual to avoid the conclusion that girls are confused, attractive monsters. but I love them anyway, and one in particular, for all the good it does me.
sometimes i think about the fact that I'm 31 now and it definitely kind of trips me out. then I just shrug and roll on with the day. it will probably always be that way, eh?
