The girl in this NYT story reminds me of some of my students. The deportation laws are stupid. I wonder if there is any activism aimed at changing them?
Why can a big company like Wal-Mart enjoy the benefits of free trade while it remains illegal for hardworking poor people with big dreams to come here and work? Why should a little girl-an American citizen have to grow up without her mother? Don’t we want American children to have strong families?
