March 10th, 2007. Happy 10th Anniversary to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!Even though most of the people reading this know me through the *NSYNC fandom, you have to know that the Buffy fandom is where I cut my teeth back in 1997. It was the first large online community that I belonged to, and I both loved and hated it at the same time. Let me clarify ( Read more... )

I cried when it ended and wrote in my journal about how much the show meant and how it changed my life. We haven't been able to afford it, but we do have at least four seasons of the show here at the house.

Once More With Feeling was like the most ground-breaking television of its time.

SUPERSTAR. *sobs* I can't wait for season 4! You know, in 2012!

*hugs tight* I love our Buffy connection, dude. I still can't get over how weird that is. Oh, Buffy. BUFFY! <3

*pencils in for 2012*

I know what you mean about that connection. Of all the people in all the world who watch Buffy, or the few of those that listened to my show, and we both are connected through your friend and THEN meet randomly through *NSYNC? What are the chances? I don't know what they are, but we defied the odds!

You name the date of our next Buffy weekend, dude, you're much busier than I. lol

My friend, who feels like you do about Buffy is going to this. Pretty cool. :)

I had seen a link to that party and was thinking of posting it, but figured most people already had plans anyway. lol But thank you for posting it for others should they want to go!

I'm almost jealous that you haven't seen them all, it's new Buffy goodness for you!

Thank you so much for typing all that up! I loved it! Your reasons for some of your fave eps is so spot on.

My mom and I both loved Buffy and it is just so hard to believe how long it has been.

And you are so right about it being such a pivotal show in TV history. It truly was. I don't think I realized that until after it went off the air and I found myself gravitating toward shows that had the quality of Buffy.

Happy Buffy Day to you Candy! :)

My dad was actually the first in my house to watch Buffy, then me, and then I got my mom hooked, too. It was such a great Tuesday night tradition for us.

Isn't it crazy that we didn't realize how good we had it until it was gone and we were left with.. the rest of TV? We were spoiled, dude.

When Buffy started [10 years! Oh my God!] I didn't own a computer and it never even occurred to me that people would search each other out online to talk about a TV show, let alone a mid-season replacement about a blonde girl who kills vampires. I watched alone. None of my friends watched it and that was ok. I adored the show, for all the reasons you listed up there and some more. A few days ago I broke out season one and watched the premiere. I'm lousy with episode titles and thought I know that one [and more titles for Buffy eps than any other show] it's always 'the premiere' to me. I was hooked from the second Tony opened his mouth. I identified with these kids, I admired them, worried for and about them. It's the only show, besides the finale of M*A*S*H, that has ever made me cry. And I, like Rhimes, am still not over it's cancellation ( ... )

I've already broken out a few of those episodes myself just to see if I was remembering things correctly. lol Thank you for sharing your own personal feelings about the show, it really was one that had a special connection with its viewers, and those are feelings that don't go away very easily.
