Buffy, 10 years later -- "The Earth Is Doomed!"

March 10th, 2007. Happy 10th Anniversary to Buffy the Vampire Slayer!Even though most of the people reading this know me through the *NSYNC fandom, you have to know that the Buffy fandom is where I cut my teeth back in 1997. It was the first large online community that I belonged to, and I both loved and hated it at the same time. Let me clarify

When Buffy started [10 years! Oh my God!] I didn't own a computer and it never even occurred to me that people would search each other out online to talk about a TV show, let alone a mid-season replacement about a blonde girl who kills vampires. I watched alone. None of my friends watched it and that was ok. I adored the show, for all the reasons you listed up there and some more. A few days ago I broke out season one and watched the premiere. I'm lousy with episode titles and thought I know that one [and more titles for Buffy eps than any other show] it's always 'the premiere' to me. I was hooked from the second Tony opened his mouth. I identified with these kids, I admired them, worried for and about them. It's the only show, besides the finale of M*A*S*H, that has ever made me cry. And I, like Rhimes, am still not over it's cancellation.

I love your list and I think I'll indulge myself in a week or two of watching them to see how they might rank on my own scale. And now that I have leaked Buffy love all over your LJ, I'm off. But a very Happy Buffy Day to you, too! And, to quote Bob Hope, thanks for the memories.

I've already broken out a few of those episodes myself just to see if I was remembering things correctly. lol Thank you for sharing your own personal feelings about the show, it really was one that had a special connection with its viewers, and those are feelings that don't go away very easily.
