Everybody lives! I need more days like this.
= Haven't seen this posted on LJ anywhere, but according to the SciFi Network magazine, SG1 and SGA Summer premieres are July 14th (is it still earlier in Canada for SGA?) and the rumor is that the times have been shifted down to 9 & 10pm, respectively. This was posted in the GWForums, but I'll wait for more confirmation before I mark my calendar.
= Went to see Friends With Money today and was pleasantly surprised. Some will probably think it's slow and boring, but it's a low-budget character study, I'm not sure action and yuks are exactly to be expected. There are definitely some hilarious moments, but it's mostly an observational look at how f'd up everyone is. And it's oddly comforting. Jennifer Aniston was really good, but Frances McDormand and Catherine Keener (love her!) stole it for me. I think it's more of a comfortable Ben & Jerry's rental than a trip out for a weekend movie, but it's enjoyable.
= Purchased cute artwork for virtually nothing today. This is very good.
= There's been a smell in my bedroom - a very unattractive smell - for the last few weeks. It's gone now. I won't go into details except to say that it wasn't a pleasant experience in getting it this way. But thank Joss it's gone.
= Okay, I knew I wouldn't be able to hold off on downloading the rest of the Doctor Who season 1 episodes, and I stayed up until 4:30 this morning watching four straight. The last one I saw was Big Boom, and ohmehgawd, why didn't anyone tell me how good it gets? Cutting the rest because I don't spoil anything specific or big, but Jessa doesn't like to know ANYTHING about her shows. I mean, it's not earth-shatteringly, best-show-ever good, but it's tons of fun and surprisingly touching and itmakesmecrysometimes. Honestly, even though I loved eps 1 & 2, after eps 3-5, I wasn't all that high on this show because those were a tad boring and out there, but it came through with Dalek and even The Long Game was pretty good, but the next four? FABulous. I mean, The Doctor Dances? What an ending!
The DVDs come out in July and I'm allll over them. Ah hell, you know I love something when I hunt down icons for them. *points* MEEP. 9th and Rose are positively adorable. WOO! GO HET SCI-FI NON-COUPLE! And okay, I like Captain Jack, I wasn't sure I was going to, but between aiming the banana in TDD and being quite useful and smart in Boom Town, I'm looking forward to more of him. But! His attempt at an American accent is bothering me. Just like I assume it bothers the Brits when Americans try to talk like them, no? But yes, I'm cherishing every episode of 9th/Rose that I have left. I have the rest of the season downloaded and I'm watching them tonight, I might even move into season 2 if I have the time. Gahh.
(once I have the first 7 episodes downloaded I plan to put them all up in the media journal for anyone that's interested)
= This weekend went by far too fast. Okay, must do laundry and stuff. BYE.
