~.: Today, at the urging of both Dad and Kristie, I have begun looking for what I believe are called "real" jobs. I have found one that seems to be rather promising, that will allow for some promotion and a second job on the side (aka, weekend work, oh yay). The hardest issue I've been having is that I thought my degree alone would be enough, but with the economy as sucky as it is now, competition is a lot higher for jobs, especially entry level ones (that include training, *gasp* what a concept!) for people just out of college. You'd be amazed at how many "entry level" jobs I've looked at that still say "experience required". This amazes me, personally. How am I supposed to get experience if I can't get a job first? -_- The ultimate Catch 22...

Then again, your degree is probably in higher demand than mine... but your degree is also a lot more common so there will be more competition. Even with just B.S./B.A. in general (the field of study not considered) there's still a ton of competition.

Sorry, I'm not trying to discourage you or anything. Just a little warning from someone who's been trying to find a job since May with very little luck. However, you are a very smart and motivated individual. When you put your mind to something you DO it, so I'm sure you'll achieve your goal. Good luck! ^_^ <3

No, no, I know you're not trying to discourage me. It's nice to get a little bit of word of warning from someone who's been working hard to find a job. So I appreciate it. ^-^ Interestingly enough, the jobs available at this clinic mostly don't require a degree, so I'll be tougher competition. The degree is "preferable" but not required. I'm still looking around though, cuz I'm not sure if I want to be a drug counselor or drug court youth advocate. :/ I got some prayin' to do. :3
