The search has begun

~.: Today, at the urging of both Dad and Kristie, I have begun looking for what I believe are called "real" jobs. I have found one that seems to be rather promising, that will allow for some promotion and a second job on the side (aka, weekend work, oh yay). It's basically exactly what I did at FLACRA for my internship, and I'm thinking of applying. I really want to work with the kids, but that requires a car, so perhaps I can try for something that lets me stay on site all day, at least until I get a car. Though, if I'm going to be in training for a bit, I might be able to save up for a car and have it by the time I need to go out on my own. It's only part-time, and it's only $13.50 an hour, but if I take on a second job, I might be okay. My degree will make me a very good candidate; I'll have to talk to them and see what I could do.

~.: My thing is that I want to get my foot in the door for something related to counseling and therapy, since that's what I want to do. It seems that drug counseling is the only other kind of counseling a person with a BA can get. At least my internship will also help me to get this job, if I decide to go for it, if I can't find anything else more appealing. I need to see what the application looks like, and talk to whoever would be my superior to discuss the process of things. :3 The best thing about this job is that it doesn't require much in the way of a long-term commitment, so if after a year I decide that I must move on to bigger and better things, it will be easy to cut ties. That's good news for us, Layne. ♥
