Flowers and dolls

~.: So Okaasan came home with some flowers and branches of eucalyptus, pulled out some of her ikebana vases, and sat me down in front of the low table in the "Japanese room" where she and I proceeded to arrange some flowers. I used what few tips I'd learned from my single visit to the ikebana club to arrange mine but apparently it's very beautiful. She was shocked. "Andrea, subarashii! Kirei, ne!!" And which point she called in Papa to show off my wonderful arrangement and placed it on a table in the foyer for everyone to see when they walk in. It felt good to hear her say that I'd done such a good job at something that was Japanese, and something which I'd only attempted once. It felt really, really good. ^-^
