Steampunk in Oxford

Jan 29, 2010 23:20

If you're in London or Oxfordshire or anywhere in the vicinity, and are reading this Friday night or the next morning, and have just realised you don't yet have anything planned for Saturday daytime...

Sally (424850) (as mentioned in her LJ a week ago), Lynsey & Peter, willseg, myself, viclet and others from Nottingham/Leicester (probably including Jema and Dave & Gina) are going to the extremely successful Steampunk Art Exhibition (13 Oct 2009 to 21 Feb 2010) at the Museum of the History of Science in Oxford: http://www.mhs.ox.ac.uk/steampunk

It's free entry, so just a train/tube to Oxford is required - though neither if, like Icto, you already live there. =)

This Saturday (30th January) from 2-5pm, there's also a special event at the exhibition focused on steampunk fashion: "Steampunk Live Manikins" and allcomers are invited to attend dressed appropriately, so we're going to be Steampunkily attired to different degrees.

More info about the Exhibition and its special events can be found here:

We're planning to meet at London Paddington Station around 12:00noon to catch the 12:21 train to Oxford.

If you can't make it tomorrow, I heartily recommend catching the exhibition before it closes!
