this is just a tribute.

So lets recap.

Mat and I auditioned for two shows this week. The first audition was monday in Ridgefield. Ugh. It was like, more than an hour away, and the audition was for a musical called "Spitfire Grill". The woman playing piano didn't know my two songs, so I had to sing basically with no key, and considering I was getting over my throat sickness from 4:20 I did very poorly. Plus, I guess Ridgefield is in the wang of CT, seeing as that we got lost in New York when we left to go home. Awesome.

Second audition was wednesday, for Our Town at the Thomaston Opera House. I was actually excited about this one. I mean, Our Town is something that'll look awesome on the resume. Most directors know it. And I need drama on my resume in the worst way. So cool. Let's audition. Even if it is an hour away.

Got called back, with Mat, for the part of George actually. I wanted the stage manager but this guy totally kicked my ass, he had the accent and mannerisms down so pat I would have cast him myself. But callbacks were nice anyway. Me and Mat leave. I figure, Mat's a better actor than me, so if I'm cast, he definitely will be and we can spend the summer acting together. And, since I don't have a car capable of making the trip to Thomaston and back three times a week, we can carpool.

They call me and offer me a part! I got Howie Newsome, the milkman I think. Great! So I call Mat to tell him the good news, and then an hour later he calls back with "I didn't get a call yet so I must not be cast". A couple more hours later, a few more votes of confidence and million phone calls, he decides to call them himself to thank them for the fun experience of the audition process. Unorthodox I think, but go ahead. They say they will call him tomorrow. So now, I'm starting to sweat. I really want Mat in the show. He had a great audition, and I was cast, so he has to be! It just makes sense. At least a fucking baseball player or something. Dead Guy #3. Whatever. He deserved George, but he should have SOMETHING. He calls me the next day. "I wasn't cast. Sorry dude." So naturally, I call stage manager and say "Mat and I travel together, sorry, I have no way of doing the show."

Total bummer. I can't act again. Sucks.

"Mat wasn't not cast...he just didn't get George." A ray of hope! Sure enough, they call him and offer him a small part later on in the day, and to make a long story longer, we're both in the show and rehersals start tonight.

Beth is in CT from LA for a few days, and I said I would hang out with her last night. But then I talked to Aaron, and decided to go over there instead of to this party she wanted me to go to. So I called Beth and left her a message saying I wasn't going to hang out, sorry, see you tomorrow or something. Then at Aarons, as I stand outside with a beer in one hand and a cigarette in the other, who the fuck should walk out of his apartment with Nikki than BETH? CAUGHT OUT. Haha, the odds of that are infinitessimally small. I couldn't believe it. But she's cool, she's not mad, it's just life. Aaron's apartment is awesome, because its right around SCSU and all the parties that happen at the FLOP or on Fitch street, people always walk by Aarons. All night, we offered people beer and burgers and made so many friends and met so many new people.

I got pretty wrecked, I'll say that much.

So that pretty much catches us all up to today. I have first read thrus tonight at 6 with Mat and Kingdom Hearts 2 is owning my soul ever since I got it a few days ago. Things are on the up and up, I'm excited and happy and I have to go!
