//Yer know,// Jono mused, picking at his guitar as he eyed the bright red bird who had been an unexpected flatmate for the past week, //I don't mind yer bein' a bird, Jean. As a matter of fact, th'company hasn't been too terrible, and yer not as messy as I'd expected yer might be. Yer haven't shat on anything in my room, at least ( Read more... )

Oh, like she wanted to be a bird still. She had to stay in a boy's room and it smelled a little.

Not like the way Jono normally smelled, but... Look, boys just didn't know how to keep everything clean. Unless they were Scott.

Jean sighed and cooed something that may have been his name in bird.

And Jono, naturally, gave his eyes a bit of a roll and returned to his guitar. He wasn't even sure if she understood what he was saying, here, and there he was, babbling on to the most fancy looking chicken he had ever seen as though he expected her to babble back.

//Yer losin' yer bloody mind, Starsmore. Yer know that, right?//

If talking to the bird wasn't an indication of that, then the fact that he was attempting to play Jonas Brothers music in order to appease the turkey might be.

For which, Jean adored him so very much. Because that was making this being a bird thing so much easier to handle. Even if her attempts to sing along left something to be desired.

She hopped over toward the dresser, trying to take care of some restlessness after so long stuck like this.

//Maybe I ought to get yer one of those bird toys from that pet shop in town,// Jono mused as he played, watching her hop about. If nothing else, he supposed, she was a very flashy sort of bird.

Maybe he ought to get a parrot.

... No, Jono.

//Yer know, with th'beads and the rope, somethin' to pick apart. Birds like that sort of thing, don't they?//

Didi didn't have class or work Monday, so the evening found her a bit at loose ends as she tapped on Jono's door.

"Jono? I'm bored. What are you doing? Are you even there?"

//Nope,// Jono reported, still somewhat bug-eyed after a still being played run-in with a bird in a somewhat shocking state of undress. //Yer talkin' to an empty room, luv.//

No, she wasn't.

//Fortunately, th'door isn't locked. As a matter of fact, some mysterious force is opening it at this very moment.//

That mysterious force called Jono. With his hand. Ooooooh. Aaaaaaah. All shall wonder in awe. Et cetera.

"Impressive trick," Didi said, stepping through the magically open door. "Are there rabbits and hats in your next one?"

//Not even hardly.// Jono nodded his hello to her, moving aside to let her into the room. //Why, do yer think I ought to take up magic tricks in my spare time? I already have a touch of experience with the 'mysterious bird turns into angry ginger' trick, apparently.//

As a matter of fact, his guitar was still on the floor. He'd probably weep over it later.
