The Apartment Above the Groovy Tunes, Jono's Room, Wednesday Evening

Dec 03, 2014 18:40

After a job well done and still in progress yesterday, Jono was back in Fandom for the day to get his bearings again before heading back to Kaeleer. It wasn't that he was avoiding Glacia, per se, so much as all of the dirty work that needed to be done at the moment had been, and he missed little things like, oh, electricity.

So he was in his room tonight, noodling around on his electric guitar, with Joni and the old man cat he'd rescued from the butcher's shop both curled up and purring on his bed beside him. What was he playing? Nothing in particular, really. A little Pearl Jam here, a little Nirvana there. Nothing really new, for Jono. Just the same old, something to zone out on, to not really pay attention to, while he let his thoughts regroup.

He wasn't even paying attention as he started playing something completely unfamiliar, though the cats seemed to be. Joni let out a little hiss and backed herself against the wall against the bed. The old man cat even seemed perturbed in spite of his deafness, his eyes going wide and staring at nothing in particular before he darted under the bed.

Jono himself didn't seem to notice anything odd at all until he looked up at one of the posters on his wall, now sporting an unfamiliar face in the place of Johnny Rotten, and three equally unfamiliar iterations of the same word.

//... Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse, Betelgeuse? What the hell is--// His eyes flashed white and a sly look crossed his features. //Doesn't really matter now, does it?//

Under the bed, both of the cats were growling, tails puffed up and thrashing.

//It's showtime.//
