So I tried the internet for some A Song of Ice and Fire book opinions. I've no intention of reading fanfics in this world, especially after I find out that the popular ships are Sandor/Sansa and Jaime/Brienne? What is this madness...
Am I the only person who prefers Cercei to Brienne? The Maid of Tarth is possibly one of the most annoying characters in the book. She's an Eddard Stark without the reason or the history (but she is young..). As for Cercei, why did GRRM choose to make her stupid after making her sympathetic? Feelings for Jaime is a lot more complicated, but Tywin has a lot to answer for there.
Now that I'm relatively sane again, reflections on the male and female characters/plots of this epic is disappointing. The fact that I read all the available ones in three days rather leaves the impression that it's not going to get better because stubborness seems to be a virtue in this world and GRRM may be "deconstructing" high-fantasy (according to Google) but just seems to reaffirm my wariness about reading fantasy in the first place.
