About the whole "I wish you wouldn't" vs "You shouldn't" question from yesterday's poll -- I was really curious what people thought, because to me the "words only, no context" distinction was always a very clear one, but I was talking to a friend who felt that "I wish you wouldn't" is equivalent to "shouldn't" and both are basically telling someone ( Read more... )

Whew. It took me approximately 150 smoke breaks over the past 2 months or so, but I am now able to produce this from memory, hesitating only at the ones that still give me trouble I'm looking at you, ふ >:(.
