Soft Tanning and leatherworking
So two questions!
First, does anyone have any advice on how to go about soft tanning? I've got an alright hold on tanning in ways that end up with rawhide, but I have a few large raw pelts in the freezer that I would love to come out pliable, possibly to drape over the back of my couch.
Second, leatherworking. I would really love to get into working with leather to make crafts and whatnot, but there is just SO MUCH information available that I'm having a hard time finding a place to start from. Specifically, I would really like to learn how to make very very simple pauldrons for a costume, but I would also just like to get into leather work in general. I figured I'd ask if anybody here has some good basic resources to learn from for a complete beginner, since I've seen lots of people here post their great work.
