Went to Jakarta on long weekend. Those four days are generally filled with mallhopping with my brother and my friends since highschool. One of them recently got a deal to publish her novel. Coupled with my brother's job as an editor, topic of our hangout conversation nowadays seem to always be literary ( Read more... )

Code Geass!!!! I am indifferent about Clamp works, because the only one which I like was actually X, but i'm pretty sure that Clamp did the character designs and nothing much more than that. I loved that series and cant wait for the second season....but yea, like you mentioned, we the late followers are spared a few months of waiting for the series to come up with season 2.

Glad that you have friends whom you can be yourself. I had once, a group of friends like those you had, where we joke senselessly and they wouldnt take it to heart, but was somewhat separated because two of them had a bitter romantic experience with each other ...*sigh*

Magic Knight Rayearth is the first CLAMP work I know, and it was quite a classic for impressionable ten-year-old me. I still like it even now, and that's why I seem to always give CLAMP a chance. X caught me in a bizarre way (for one, I don't like the yaoi fanbaiting and the feathers flowing got old if excessive) and break my heart to pieces when CLAMP went on eternal hiatus and it made me vow never to spend a dime on any CLAMP stuff until they pick X up again. Movie and anime don't count >_< So yeah, it's a lovehate relationship.

As for Code Geass, yup, I know CLAMP only did the character designs but many things remind me of X there... from Suzaku-Nunnally-Lelouch being a form of Kamui-Kotori-Fuuma to the a scene with Tokyo tower. But then Code Geass reminds me of a lot of anime series... maybe that's how they became so successful, by borrowing from here and there xD

Friends and romantic experiences... *sigh*
