hello again spidey faithful...

I really don't have any work to do today, so I figured I'd update my journal. My first day of classes was today so the semester is officially under way. The first one I had today was Japanese. It's a Japanese II class so it's pretty self explanatory. There are a few people in this class that I know from my Japanese I class, but other than that it's a bunch of fresh faces. I hope I don't jinx myself by saying this, but I think that I might have an easier time with this class than I did with the last one. I think I feel that way because I'm used to the language and how it's taught. The nice thing about this is, I have the same professor that I did last semester. That's nice because I don't have to adjust to a new teaching style, which is very good when you're learning a difficult language like Japanese. The only problem I can see with this class is that we're learning 60 new Kanji...great.

After my Japanese class I had a break so I took care of some clerical work. What that means is that I dropped off one set of recommendations to one of my professors so she could start working on them. After that I hiked over to the registrars office to turn in the transcript transfer sheet so I could get my transcript sent to Syracuse. All of this entailed a lot of running around this unnecessarily large campus of mine. I only have one more set of recommendations to give out and that is going to get taken care of tomorrow. Then I'll be done with this transfer madness for at least a short while.

The next (and final) class I had was my Intro to Drawing class. This is the class that I have been looking forward to the most. I really want to learn how to draw and I think that I'm going to enjoy this class. Class today essentially consisted of handing out the syllabus and then sitting in a circle talking about ourselves. There are about twenty of us in the class, so it's nice and small. Everyone was pretty quiet there, I guess because it was the first day, but I imagine that I'll be able to meet some new people through that class. After that class (which was considerably shorter than usual because it was the first day) I went to the book store to pick up my supplies. Fortunately for me, the professor had anticipated the lack of art material knowledge that her students would posses and had the bookstore put all the materials that we needed together in a case for us. That meant that instead of wandering aimlessly through the book store all I had to do was waltz in and grab the case. I also picked up a small sketch book so I can doodle in my free time without having to lug around a huge, hulking sketch book.

Since I got home I haven't really been doing much because there's nothing to do. I haven't been given any homework and I don't have to do anything for the classes I haven't had yet so I guess I can just sit around and not do a whole lot. Normally I would enjoy this thoroughly, but I've actually just been bored out of my mind. It's going to be nice when I actually get some work to keep me busy. Well, till next time.
