I am learning to play this on my mandolin, specifically the top part. And all I can say is that learnign to play that song makes me very, very happy.

First of all, the book of classical mandolin music is way, way above my current ability. Maybe I'll be able to work my way through it in a couple of years, but for now I'm going to have to stick to the St. John's freshman chorus manual ( Read more... )

I swam 15 laps today, which took me about half an hour. I've decided that going by laps instead of by time is a better system for me; it lets me spend as much time resting between laps as I need to without lowering the amount of exercise I get done. I picked up my Baby Taylor (a 3/4 sized acoustic) today for the first time in probably 2 years. At first, I thought it was still in-tune (which would have been miraculous!), but about 20 minutes later, I checked with the tuner.
