The Hard Truths

Apr 01, 2007 00:36

You know, the moment you sleep with someone you have to realize that you are changing the course of your future.  If you should decide to cut things off, and date another person, chatting with that original person is HIGHLY UNCALLED FOR AND UNWARRANTABLE.  The person you care about now doesn't need to hear about (or get visual cues) of what that other person did to you.  People who think they can just call something, "just sex" have something wrong with them.  Sex isn't just "sex".  It's an intimate act that goes straight to the souls of many of us.  Only the shallowest will call it, "just sex."  If you think the opposite, I encourage you to treat yourself to the confession booth at your local church and try to have a priest absolv you of your falsehood.

So if you want a friendship to be strong and pure the rest of your life... DON'T SLEEP WITH THEM!  It may be hard to let go after so many years, but if you know deep down in your heart that the person you are with is you're one, only, last, and eternal soul mate you've been yearning for your whole life... you go ahead and release yourself from your past to start a brand new life.  Yes.  It is extremely hard and takes an iron will to take this on.  However, you live for that person, and that person only.  I know I have finally met mine and I thank god for it many times a month (I LOVE YOU SARA!!!)

Also, if you want your relationship to continue on strong, don't EVER talk about people of the past that you've been with.  Trust me, while you try to encircle the true facts of the matter with shadows, the other person is surely sketching a horrificly candid visual in their mind.  YOU JUST DON'T DO THAT!  Yes, you will probably always remember them, but keep it private and don't let it ever come out.  Bringing up the past only summons jealousy, rage, envy, and a bitter taste always left in your mouth.

... if you're wondering, this all stems from a two hour conversation I had today on the phone today with Sara... the woman I've waited for my entire life.  Thank you match.com!
