Parents came to see the new flat for the first time yesterday. It was very lovely to see them, to chat and have fun and generally enjoy each other's company. I know I'm lucky in that I enjoy spending time with my Mum and Dad. As Anthony says, he often would rather spend time with them than with his own parents. So I'm blessed and I wish I could see more of them. The big family Christmas this year - brother included for first time in a while - is going to be chaotic madness.
I also made fridge cake. My first 'baking' in the new flat. It set so hard in the fridge that it wouldn't come out of its tin until I'd left it out for a while to soften and then Anthony pried it loose. He declared himself liberator of fridge cake. Bless.
And from Tuesday I'll be working long hours as my colleague heads off on holiday during this gorgeous weather. So bad point - I'll be up at the crack of door for several days in a row and will have to deal with Dr F for more hours and no colleague to help me work out how to fulfil some requests. Good point - Delicious fridge cake to make me feel better, many empty hours at work when I can write, and overtime pay :) I choose to focus on the positive.
